There are several areas with K-Girls and Thai girls, and very little pretense about what is on the menu. There are a number of Chinese AMPs as well in the Richardson / Plano areas that are more subtle but also offer a variety of services. Dallas has variety that is almost on par with SoCal, but what I like about Dallas even more so than SoCal is that 60 min is the standard session. In SoCal it's hard to find an AMP that will give more than a 30 min appointment.
Too bad that ChiTown is not doing so well. I just moved to St. Louis, and it's terrible here. I am hoping to make it up there for the occasional weekend and partake in the hobby.

The well-known clubs in the city have great looking girls, but you won't get much mileage. I would suggest Industrial Strip in Hammond, IN.

Went to an AMP this evening just out of the blue. Figured I'd treat myself before a long work week ahead. Had seen a new place nearby and decided to give it a go. The place is a hole in the wall. Walked in, the girl that ultimately gave me a massage was not great but decent. The massage was sub par and at times painful! But I must admit she gave it an honest effort and gave me the full hour. About 30 minutes into it, on the flip she smiled and went right for a handshake without asking nor discussing any issues on the menu. Now don't get me wrong this is damn well what I came for! But believe it or not, this is the first time I haven't been given "the options" and paid upfront. She allowed touching and I was roaming all over (Granted she was not really my cup of tea) After it was done she continued with the massage to finish up the time and that was it.
My question was when I was leaving I obviously felt the need to tip but wasnt quite sure how much since as I said this was a first for me. What would you guys say is a standard tip for this situation? I ended up leaving 30 to make it a round $ for the entire experience which I think was fair. But I left wondering if I undertipped or overtipped.

You don't want to overpay obviously but you don't want to come off as cheap either. 40 is about where it should be, but you know here in Chicago many providers make sad faces if they don't get 60 for HJ. IMHO these should be the going rates for various services: HJ. 40; BJ. 60, FS. 100. Yet as I just said many want an additional 20 on top of those rates. You can always politely refuse if she's not willing to negotiate, especially with HJs.
Then again, if she didn't complain about the 30 tip you left her, more power to you. I did that at United with Lucy last year; left a 30 tip and she seemed very happy to get that. She was Korean, and I'm not trying to sound biased here, but in general I think the Koreans are more appreciative and grateful for any tip you leave them than the Chinese are. That's just my opinion though; others may think differently but to each their own.

I guess it depends on who you get. I'll keep in mind the 40 for next time.

Went to Xindy and had "Joyce" (not sure about the name). I think they have a hair / nail salon upfront with a big fish tank and TV at front room. No one was there at hair salon. Massage rooms are in the back.
She looked around 50-55 yrs old. Too old for me. The way she was dressed it looked like she was about to leave for office. I was like disappointed but decided to go ahead with the massage. Big Mistake. They don't provide TS. Massage was okay. She can't speak proper English so communication was a problem.
I was not interested in anything since she was too old for me. After the flip, I asked her to continue massaging me since I had paid for one hour and she got upset with me. She rudely said your time is up even though it was not and that really pissed me off. I just went ahead and got dressed and while I was leaving she said " you know you have to pay tips". I was like yeah whatever. I am not giving you a dime for being rude to me and cutting my time short.
I have crossed this place off my list. Chicago AMP scene is horrible. This was the worst AMP experience ever.
The only girl worth in Xindy is June. Good looking, Young and fun. She was busy when I went there but I am done with Xindy. Too far for me also the traffic on the road is not worth it.

Hey Guys. I thought the Chinese Massage or what ever it's called in China Place was monger friendly. I'm thinking the old Q&Q. 2nd floor of the China Square towards the south end. It was not a total waste of time, ok massage and she worked hard on a few knots. I did not get her name this morning. I'm guessing she is mid to late thirties, not very attractive, but I'm more forgiving in that area, where some of you guys are more particular. But the table shower set off those warning lights. I knew they way she looked away when I was "nerked as a jay bird" was not a good sign and she was kind of socially awkward, more so than some of the others I have met. Just curious if it would be worth a repeat. My ego is bruised! I started at Crystals in Matteson, but did not want to waste my time. FBB in Oak Forest was closed and not answering any calls and out course the girls at Spa Paris changed the phone numbers and I had the old ones. I should have tried Mercy. Oh well, it sucks to be me today. I would appreciate any info! Thanks!

I went there last summer and got shut out with extras; didn't even get a flip from the MT. Not recommended IMHO

A friend of mine is a professional massage therapist, and we got to talking about massage parlors the other day. I never previously hinted on my interest in such things, but he had a LOT to say after I did that I think would be valuable to share. (Yes, I said HE. And he's pretty damn good. He got my tension headache to vanish in about 3 minutes, and did more for my rotator cuff injury than my physical therapist did).
A legally licensed therapist has to complete a state approved education. It's anywhere from $6000 to almost $20,000 depending upon where they go and how intense they go into it. (He spent almost $20k). Then there's some national certification test thing they have to take, and a state background check and licensing. Then they have to renew their license every few years and continue their education in order to renew, and a few hours of that has to be ethics classes. That's what he does. It's the ONLY way to legally be a therapist.
So, the LEGAL therapists tend to work in certain places, which he kindly informed me. Some of these places WILL PRESS CHARGES if you make a heavy-handed advance (pardon the pun).
He said some places are known as "massage mills" where it's cut-rate, bargain massage. But by legal workers. This is where the bottom-of-the-barrell and fresh out of school people work. You will NOT get anything extra at these places, and the massage will be mediocre at best.. he said they count on clients that don't know what a good therapist is. They're corporate owned or franchised, and are as legit as can be. He said that they have iron-clad contracts with the therapists that make it totally not worth even considering.

Then there's the massage schools. Don't even think about it there. He went to a school in Chicago, and a guy that tried something with another classmate was greeted by police. I forgot the school names, but if it's a massage school, forget it. (Although I remember the good old School of Massage up north that wasn't a school, and had some good times there!)
He also said if you go to any spa that has an open lobby area, any cosmetic services, pregnancy services or services specifically for females (manicure, pedicure, etc) and you can see inside from outside, forget it. Also, if it's advertized on Groupon, KGB, living social or a local mailer, it's legit. Any place that offers extras won't need to drum up business. Lastly, if it's a decent hotel or chiropractor's office, forget it as well.
I told him that I have been to them, and he was a little upset but cool about it. He understood the need, but emphasized his disgust in how such things tarnish the legal therapist's industry. I told him I had a "circle of friends" that I share info with, and he asked me to spread the word. He said to please respect the legal therapists, as they worked hard to be legal and have a lot of crap to deal with, from the state, from the police and from the occasional confused or pushy monger. If you do find yourself in a credible place and they work on you but don't offer anything, he asked to please still tip, because he explained how pay works in a spa, and it's really screwy and some people don't get squat for their time there. He said that if you want to pursue what we pursue, keep it in the asian places that we hit up, BP or CL because it's rare that a therapist on those sites is legit. He went on about how a lot of medical issues can be made worse by massage if an uneducated person works on someone. His big thing was people with blood clots could die. And he wanted me to also share that he highly recommends going to a good high-end male or female therapist once in your life so you can see what a good massage is, and how disappointing the crappy ones are. He also said that iff you are going to go see a legit therapist for legit work, don't be homophobic. Most male therapists do better deep tissue work, and it's not gay. He had a good point when he said "you'll let a male doctor stick his fingers inside your asshole, but god forbid a guy works on your ficked up back". I had no good argument there. I'll admit. I love seeing some cute girl for relief... getting a handfull, licking some nips and squeezing her ass as she finishes me.. But this dude has done some seriously beneficial stuff to help me. I guess they both have their place. And yes. I let a man massage me. And it was actually really damn good. I'm secure in my manhood, and kinda have to side with him on the "It ain't gay, it's professional therapy work" thing. If I'm really sore, I won't go to mamasan. I'll go to him. (And I won't even joke about happy endings. I got lectured on that too. So he begged that we don't even make jokes to legit therpists. He's ok with it, but the females get super bent out of shape). But if I DO have the itch.. it's off to Mercy or 7Spa in Morris!!!

Alice closed her place at Chinatown Square last year when they rasied her rent 1500. A month. Wow 3500. A month. Cook C. Taxes, She was on the first floor, Wright in the main entrance. There is another place Oriental Spa and Massage is on the 2en floor.
Oriental was the place and not worth it if someone may want some extra medicenal massge.

Actually it was a good legit massage (and the MT was decent-looking) but like I said in my previous post I wouldn't be expecting extras there. They advertise a lot on both CL and BP.

Xindy Spa is in front of Halsted (Orange Line). Read my review of that place. Except for one girl I would say you are better off not going there.

It's also true that some of the masseuses / therapists at AMPs had training in China before coming here, but that the Chinese training isn't recognized in the States, and they can't afford the $6k to $20k to get a US license.
So, my conscious sometimes bothers me that some of those AMP massueses with real but unrecognized qualifications find themselves in the position of having to offer extras in order to earn a living in the field where they have training.
On the other hand, I know of a therapist in that position who left her AMP spa when she finally got certified here, but then I was suprised that she joined another AMP with a friend. In her case, I guess she chose friendship over going to a fully legit spa.

Found a couple of places on BP that I was thinking of checking out this week. They all seem to advertise the same rates and hours. Would appreciate any feedback so I'll know what to expect. Most likely will try the one just north of downtown just based on location.

I know they have it hard but I tip well for there effort.
