Frequently when I try to get on the site it says 502 bad gateway. Does anyone know what causes this and how it can be avoided?

Admin's had to make some tweaks for security a couple of months ago as the site was getting a DDOS attack if I remember. Worse case, wait 10 minutes and try again.

On Monday, August 11,2025, the Boston Police Department's Human Trafficking Unit conducted a proactive enforcement operation in Roxbury, with a focus on the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard. The initiative was carried out in partnership with the Massachusetts State Police Special Services Section High-Risk Victims Unit, officers assigned to District B-2, and the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
The operation targeted individuals engaged in criminal activity in the New Market Square area, with the goal of reducing sexual exploitation, disrupting the recruitment of victims, and addressing related criminal offenses. Additional objectives included reducing property crime and mitigating blight-related concerns. This coordinated effort supports the Boston Police Department's mission to reduce fear, enhance public safety, and improve the quality of life for residents.
As part of the initiative, participating agencies conducted targeted observations in the Allerton and Pompeii Street areas to assess and address ongoing criminal activity. The operation resulted in the arrest of thirteen individuals, who are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The link has the names, ages, home town, of those arrested. Appears they were arresting only the johns.
Not so new, actually, but it's worth repeating that everything is trafficking now. Generic street stings, hotel stings, doesn't matter what kind of activity it's in LE's interest to slap a 'trafficking' label on it. It gets them media attention and reminds the politicians at all levels to keep the dollars flowing so they can better battle the dreaded 'trafficking' scourge!
The problem for mongers is that this is more than mere semantics. Once the "T" word is applied, all bets are off. That allows the locals to bring in state and federal LE and gives all of them access to tools that would not be available if the only thing being investigated was garden-variety misdemeanor prostitution.
Then, after they've cast their wide net and ruined the lives of those caught up in it, they'll admit there really wasn't anything that met the true legal definition of trafficking. Or, as is more often the case, they won't make any admission at all and will simply stop using the label. Either way, it'll be too late for the poor schmoes who simply wanted to wet their wick with a willing (and adult) companion.
Getting "502 bad gateway" for days now when try to open the site on the latest iPhone. Tried to do it on another (older) iPhone today and it works fine. Works fine on the desktop as well. Do you people have issues with the site opening?

502 Bad Gateway.
I too was getting this on various devices. There's a thread on USASG about this. While I don't exactly understand it, your browser is attempting to find a secure site and is using "https://usasexguide.nl" to reach the site. Manually delete the "s" so that the requested URL is "http://usasexguide.nl" That's what got me in.

My guess is they tried to implement SSL and then reverted back. So any old tabs that were still using SSL stopped working. They should implement a redirect, but whatever.
