It sounds to me as if they are trying to change the Bookstore from what it was, to a Swingers Club. For the couples who attend, there are much better options, than what is available to them at this place.

Its always been about the money. This is a place that went from $10 to $15 then $20 then $35 for MNF then $55 min for a party. Average guys who go to the theater / booth for sex are not going to pay over $20. And Melrose needs more the $20 to help pay off the spa and pay bills. So yeah they will change this to a couples / swingers place. As for the cops that never was or is a problem. They stopped one car big deal. The cops have never even been inside of Melrose. That's just a scare tactic so they can eventually raise the prices. As if somehow raising prices or turning into a swingers club keeps cops out. News flash cops can go into a swingers club too.

I was there about 8:30 - 9; still Pizza, Wings, and soda, no women in the party room or theatre or booth area.

I did see one open glory hole, and the gyno table is set up in a room behind the screen that was freely accessible, but the joint was pretty dead for a supposed party.

Well if this is the case I wont be going back. The owner best rethink cause I think the 20 dollar movie theatre, free booths ( which I never used ) and a play free for all in the theatre was good. Everytime I went there was at least a 100 count head in and out of the 3 hours I was there so 2G is good. Maybe im wrong. I dont know about this joint anymore. I havent been there in a while. Here is the real deal about the playhouse, I was there this pm from 8-10. First off it is considered a membership club with a sign posted by the theater that strictly prohibit any recording devices. Next I went in to the theater and straight to the room behind the screen, it exceeded my expectation vs the b. S. Posters talking bad about it, it was relatively large, at least 15 people could easily fit in if not more and it had 2, yes two gynee table and the swing. Next up I went to the booths and again someone was lying thru their teeth, the glory holes were there and not only that, they were probably never boarded up because I did not see one screw or nail hole, so the play areas were fine in my opinion, I actually like that back room. Now for the bad news, not one women was playing, matter of fact, the only woman I saw came in for some toys and did not even go in to the theater or booth area. There were a couple of cd's that were playing in the booths for awhile. So the playhouse was playable so to speak. So here is my take, some bashers who posted for weeks on the other message board basically scared the crappola out of women and couples and play has probably slowed down to a crawl. My opinion is the owners know what they are doing and will get the women back in to the playhouse over time once the fear factor wears off. I would guess it was the owners of cts or whatever its called in indiana who started the smear campaign against melrose. I wouldn't be so quick to blame the other club for this. Things have fallen off there as well.

Certain members began smear campaigns on their own (remember janetCD) and things at both bookstores began to change with the arrival of sheeba and her crew (including film crew) at both stores.

So a couple of weeks ago on a Friday night, my girlfriend & I decided to give Melrose a try. We're exceptionally adventurous sexually, and the idea of getting it on either in front of a couple of guys, or playing with another couple, was just too damned enticing to resist.

So, we do our research, discover this forum, read EVERY SINGLE post / comment / whatever here, and in the end, just make the decision to go and see for ourselves on a Friday night when we expect to find at least ONE other couple there. We do make contact with a woman who expresses an interest in meeting us in the spa, but of course, that never happened.

IN ANY EVENT, once the earth cooled and the dinosaurs came and went, we get there around 10, and the place is, indeed, quite dead. We pay for the spa, a private room, theatre access, etc etc, and have to say it wasn't quite as exciting as we thought it might be. There were about 8 or 9 older guys in the theatre masturbating, whatever might have been behind the screen was locked, and the 10 guys in the spa seemed to be waiting for me to give them permission to come in and bang my girl.

HOWEVER, considering that we'd just spent about $70, we decided to make the best of it. We go to the spa, get into our room, I give my girl some words of encouragement, she tells me she's good to go, and we hit the shower. Then into the sauna. To bring this whole thing to a close, before we gave it up and left, we stepped outside for some cool air, and Sheba did indeed show up with her hubby. We waited about another 30 minutes, but as we decided to leave, we noticed that she had decided to use the booths, and while it may have been fun to play with her as a couple (and invite another guy or two into the mix, the whole energy of the place just seemed so. Seems like most of y'all are like me, sideline observers. I haven't been there in at least a couple months, but am still curious as to what's happening there.

I visited the bookstore a few times with my husband, never played. The one time I was all ready to play I get there only to see video and picture taking. I certainly do no want my picture floating around the net. If Sheba or others want to take pictures to document the experience I would suggest they find a place where no one entering the place minds. As an original patron of 15th ave I would have to agree that this place has been going down hill ever since the pro's and semi pros crawled in off the street. There have been others video taping other than Sheeba. I know, I have been there when they were doing it. I saw the camera angles. I saw the viewfinders. There were face shots then. You cant help be seen if you are standing there watching. Hmmm guess Im one of the stupid ones for not wanting my face on the internet. Silky and others make a valid point that people were scared off by the cameras. Not just Shebas, but the still cams and cell phones and the voyers who claimed the pix were just for them. Promises to obscure faces are just empty promises in the anonymous world we travel in.

I can say that without a doubt the three woman that I brought to the club would NOT want their pictures taken there.

I am Definatley not responsible for what others do but as far as what we do it has never been hiden and I have always been upfront with people about it. I do edit all faces out as well as tattos and many times shirt logos incase its a work shirt. I let the men and women know that I will be taking pictures and vids and that if I do post anything their faces and distinguishing marks will be edited. I have had several men tell me they wanted their face on it and didn't care because they have been in Am-porn. Even then I usually edit out their faces anyway. Your not stupid for not wanting your face on the web as many do not want their family or friends and co-workers knowing and We understand that. Its seems like Sheba and I are getting the short end of this for our play even though we have never slighted anyone in it or misused or misrepresented our intent in anyway. Apparently Some on this site have a bone to pick with Melrose, so why take it out on us. We love the venue and play there as well as other places and at times without our cameras. Thats still our choice. I always say if you don't want to be in our play because I'm taking pictures or vids thats your choice. Or simply let me know and usualy I will not take vids or pictures to accomodate you (usually). There has been nights where I didn't take any pictures and simply had fun playing and watching her play.

If you are coming to Chicago go to Melrose and if you want a choice there is CTs in NW indiana but Between the two (melrose and CTs) My personal choice is Melrose, much cleaner, larger, spa & Showers, lockers as well as larger theater, back room behind theater for more fun as well as 16 arcade booths with 6 that have gloryholes in them for more fun. Staff is very helpful. Cts is smaller and dirty. Think it was an old garage or gas station turned into a strip club then now a small theater (my living room is bigger seriously) about 4-5 booths very small and not clean in anyway. Staff is nice. Pete is ok and the guys that hang are cool. Guys that go to both are usually friendly. Both have a exam table but melrose also has private rooms with massage tables or padded bech style seats/bed. Again there is a choice and have been to both (CTs one time and melrose lots of times) We would choose Melrose. But hey its all in what you want and are looking for.

Are motivated by one of two things, 1. They are linked to a competitive business and have seen their business fall dramatically or 2. They have a beef to pick with ownership. I am very objective on the subject and will continue to give my feedback. I have been going to swing clubs and theaters for over 30years and go to the playhouse about once and month except over the summer when I have more free time. The playhouse by far is the best bang for its buck for the right group of people. Who are those, first off very adventurous couples, women who like to be gang banged, voyeurs and of course horny males who like to play.

Here is the deal, the playhouse was fantastic before the bashing started. On any given Friday night there were 10-20 couples in the theater, some playing, some watching, on Friday's you actually had 2 shifts, the early bird couples who would get there at around 7 and stay until 9or10 and then you would have the later group of couples filtering in about 9 and leaving around 12. Single women would float in all night long. Some days you had femcar, nancy, honey, etc. All playing at once. Then the chit hit the fan and the conspiracy to hurt the playhouse started and the couples and single women dried up dramatically. Like I posted a few days ago, I went last Friday from 7-9 and no action whatsoever. The bashing worked for the time being. The club is very playable for couples and single women with that back room behind the theater screen a nice place to play as well as the booths. The owners need to come up with a way to get the word out to the right folks without getting the word out to those that want to stagnate the play at Melrose, ie, the bashers. The owners have a tough road in my opinion but they are smart businessmen and my gut says they will get the women and couples back. All in my opinion and mine alone.

Several things bother me. I saw a video of Rouge with several black guys doing her. And while they were doing her a white arm reaches over and takes pictures using a cell phone camera. He was taking head/face shots. I mention their races as way of identifying not as a racist remark. The fact that it was a white arm made it clear he was not part of the actual action. Maybe those black guys didn't mind. But it does bother me and probably others too that anyone with a cell phone can snap away at me while I'm too busy to notice it.

Another point you left out was the cost. Now I hate CT's its a lousy dirty place. That said its only $10. Melrose has one price to get in, another for the spa, another for a lock, another for a locker, another for your parties. Not just me but others have posted it can cost easily $70 just to walk around and find only a few people none of which are playing. Sorry Sheba but I know you ain't paying that price. In fact you do make a profit off your parties. So don't jump on us who complain about the much higher cost unless you pay it too. Final point is Melrose hasn't been the same since you and your film crew showed up. It used to be a nice quiet place to go and have fun. Now everyone is in fear of cops, pic taking, higher costs. The ygroups can't even say the name Melrose. How immature is that. You really think the cops are going to bust them because someone said Melrose out loud? At least we can talk openly in here. As much as I hate CT's their business is really picking up.

That said, You have been mistaken in several points but thats because you think you actually know what we do or what is happening. First this is not Sheba This is her husband "L". We don't have a film Crew as some would like to call it as it is usually just me taking the pictures and vids. Every now and then friends that play with us will help out in taking pictures or vids while I operate the other. Rogues play is not always with us and she doesn't state her intentions we do and always have. As far as Pricing you are right to say the CT's is $10 and that the playhouse has different prices for different areas but when we arrived it went from free for couples to $10 per couple which we had no problem in paying And I am a friend of the owner and still payed. We drive from wisconsin and stay in a hotel so our weekend cost much more then what you would pay at the playhouse. The Meet & Greet is for our yahoo group and for what you get we are considered inexpensive in every sense of the word. You started this on the yahoo groups as well and I suppose didn't want to hear the truth when she and well as I said we don't make hardly anything because we do this more for those in the lifestyle, The playhouse charges to use the party room and spa, On that weekend we get our expense covered and the last meet and greet I made a whopping $400 after my initial expense. Not counting what I paid for supplying the Hard alcohol and Poosie Power drinks. Left me with a grand total of $150 actual profit of which I put it right back into the halloween party towards the Chocolate buffett which will easily run me over $200 just for that. Not counting everything else I'm supplying. First off I don't need to explain myself to anyone as far as if I make money on the event or not. Why don't you call melrose and try to rent the party room and the spa and you will find out depending on your #'s what He will charge you (don't faint now LOL). I have planned events for over 20 years that makes this look like small club gathering. So unless you actually know what percent we actually make and what we are charged and what expenses we accuire your speculation is bogus. Again your allowed your opnion here for sure but you would think you would want to be factual instead of presumptuous and mistaken. Don't get me wrong as I have kept the price for our Meet and Greets just low enough so that I can pay for everything and come out in the black to seed that into the next party. As far as what melrose prices are that is their business and not mine and we are no different then anyone else when we go on the weekends except that I am a friend of the owner, yet I still ask permission to do those things that Sheba and I love doing

In fact you do make a profit off your parties. So don't jump on us who complain about the much higher cost unless you pay it too. Final point is Melrose hasn't been the same since you and your film crew showed up. It used to be a nice quiet place to go and have fun. Now everyone is in fear of cops, pic taking, higher costs. The ygroups can't even say the name Melrose. How immature is that. You really think the cops are going to bust them because someone said Melrose out loud? At least we can talk openly in here. I was there last Friday, there is a big sign, no cameras, no video equipment, and no use of cell phones beyond the entry point of the theater and the back rooms, so stop being misleading. With the sensitivity about recording devices no one and I mean no one is going to get away with taking any pictures or video. Regarding the price, LOL. Most play that you would be interested in happens in the theater and the booths. Regarding parties, show me a party you can attend for less than the playhouse, you can't. If you can't afford the 20 bucks for the majority of the action your money is probably better spent elsewhere in my opinion, stop bashing you are dead wrong.

That is your choice for sure and I have and will never take random pictures of others playing in the theater or spa or anywhere for that matter unless asked by the couple who is playing or the gal which many times I have been for their own record. I agree that and totally understand why people don't want to have their faces or bodies online and I don't VIDEO OR TAKE THEIR PICTURES AT ALL! LOL thought I had to emphasize that. Hey thats our play and it doesn't include anyone else. Its simple go see those pictures for yourselves and there is not a one that we have in them that didn't know what the intent was or what we were doing. In fact I have stopped people from taking "Private" photos when we were there playing and asking them if they had permission from those playing even to the point of management actually taking a camera and deleting the pictures on it from one guy who took shots without permission.

Just to fill on those wondering in or those nay-sayers who maybe got kicked out of the place LOL (oops your bad). The playhouse is the BEST THING going for those who love to get their freak on in a private/public place, You can be a voyuer, you can participate, you can shower (always good to be clean and not smelly), you can go steam (that is great to relax and also fun in the steam room isn't bad too), There are gals that show up from time to time whether single or married, I'll tell you what affects people from going at times, Its the crap that some negitive people (like some that might have gotten kicked out) or others who are jealous of other people getting the attention, or simply those who are just to cheap to pay the Dam $20. To. Wait go to a movie and arcade not just for one showing but able to have that ticket ALL DAY from when they arrived to close. I don't know, the last time I looked the movies at most Adult theaters for one showing or a double header was Min. $10-$15 and no arcade and usually no single females or couples wanting action. Back to Melrose now. Then they added a Spa section and Party room (yeah good stuff), Now after you have some fun you can go clean up and even relax in the steam room. Hey if you find someone you like and want some private time you can rent a private room in the spa for $40 which may be high but we rented a room for 4 hours at a motel which was ok for a bunch of us after a night of clubbing and paid a little more than that. The thing is that it is all in the same place! You don't have to hunt a room down when your wanting some one on one time. If your wanting to throw a party there is the party room that they do rent out for parties as I have done bachelor parties there as well as Meet & Greets and more. Its private and very nice with two private rooms in the party room for use of those renting them, A full bar area and DJ sound and lighting and now a big screen with video projector. If you bring your own lock (if you don't want to pay their price for one) the lockers are FREE! So you can leave your clothes or bring a change of clothes as well. They have a lounge area set up in the arcade area as well as the spa as well as outside. How can anyone say they haven't tried to accomodate those who frequent the playhouse. The private parties are not ran by melrose but different groups or orginizations but people love to ball it all together. Hey if you don't want to go because you think its to expensive then simple DON'T GO. If you want the Theater and Arcade the price hasn't changed in over a year. The spa cost a little more but if you don't want to you don't have too. But why bash it. I don't see you picketing the gas stations for the rise of gas prices LOL. Or anyone bashing the owners of those stations or those who fill up there LOL! Thats funny "fill up"! Anyway 15th Ave. In My estimation as well as alot of others may have its problems and growing pains but its still "THE BEST PLACE GOING! My wife and I drive from wisconsin 2 1/2 hours one way to have fun there and usually stay at a nice hotel too. So our weekends with the cost of melrose. Well. Wished we lived closer LOL as we would be there more for sure.

I wonder if those that are taking videos and pictures have ever seen the sign. If there is a sign, there is no way that anyone would disobey the rules and take pictures is there?

I think that sign is obeyed as much as speed limit signs are. LOL I suppose I shouldn't say that. Someone will accuse me of bashing just for having a sense of humor.

I didn't care for the advertising and the videotaping that changed the 'feel' of Friday nights at the playhouse that they attended, but Sheba and her husband were always as nice as could be, and he is very patient here in explaining what's what. I liked the adventure and spontaneity of the old days as to who might show up and what might happen, as opposed to the lights, camera, action scene, but to each his own.

More importantly though, what is going on at 15th these days? Are single guys still limited to the theater on Friday/Saturday nights? And if so, is it dead in the theater/room behind the theater with no women, no couples, no nudity allowed?

I'm not heading back, if ever, until there seems to be a reason to. Hard to tell what's going on; sounds like an active dis-information campaign is being waged on top of everything else.

you are sounding like a broken record. Ok we get it. THe price has gone up. Half of your posts have dealt with the prices at Melrose. Either get over it, and stop complaining, or deal with it and move on.

Well the signs you are refering to was recently posted for all, and yes I do obey them as well lol. I have personally talked to the owner about different issues that have come up on our groups that needed to be addressed and even saw a friend of mine who runs a few groups at the Theater this past friday night (he runs stick it through 2) and we discussed some issues and he went there to "see for himself" what all the who-ha was and I do believe left more than satisfied. You have to understand even though the owner is a personal friend I will not and I mean WILL NOT go against his rules for His store. What i do in a private room with sheba is my business as well as when we use the party room for My Groups events and Meet & Greets where I am allowed to do things that the store will policy now negates. See I do obey the spped limit signs lol (well most times lol.) Anyway if you see me with camera in areas that you think I shouldn't be with camera you need to know that either the rule was changed (that is the managements choice) or I have gotten permission from the Ower to do so. Again its the best place going!!!

Was at the theater on friday afternoon. I dont care what drama is going on there this is a great place. I got there at about 2:30 and go to the back room of the theater...there she is....with a crowd waiting tobe taken care of....only had to wait a few minutes until I got to do my thing...what a blast. If you treat them with respect this place will always kick ass...
