I'd never hand my real DL at MP for any reason. You never know what could happen later.

I've heard of a couple of stripclubs pulling that DL nonsense here in L.A., but not ever an MP. I personally would not give either my DL unless I was as young as I wish I was - and the establishment needed proof that I was old enough to participate. I doubt the MP did anything devious with your DL, and I guess it could offer them some security as possibly a means of determining if you are a cop. Which place was this?

And if you pull it out, what happens next? Do you fire it? Maybe they run away, maybe they fire at you? Maybe they leave and come back with more people or firepower.

Realize this, you are all chum in the waters of sharks doing this. These folks who are likely to pull a gun on you will not hesitate to shoot. If they're drawing on you, they're playing a game that's far more serious than the penny ante bullshit pick up a ho than they're doing. These guys have been involved in a war since they were kids. For many of these guys, it's been kill or be killed since they were 13 years old. They will not try to scare you if they think you're a threat to them. They will shoot to kill, and consider the consequences much later (such as when they meet with me for the first time). You will be considering the consequences immediately. A good way to survive in the civilized world, but not a good way to survive in this kind of a war.

Now, reality speaking here, if you are confronted by gang members who wish to do you harm, you are probably far more likely to escape unscathed (but perhaps poorer) if you are mellow and do not cause a problem. I've been doing this job for many years, and I have to tell you, the number of "innocent" victims is few and far between. Yes, there are predators out there, but the bulk of the predators are going after other predators, and leave the civilians out of it. If they go after civvies, they tend to do so for business, and have little interest in causing much damage (bad for business).

Your best bet, I would say, is keeping your wits about you, not going to bad places and being unable to get away quickly, and keeping your engine running with your foot on the pedal if you are in any kind of a situation that could even turn bad. If it looks like it is starting to turn bad, get out quickly.

But, don't try playing this game, because ultimately, as shown by the fact that you are posting on a website which helps you avoid even becoming entangled with law enforcement, you are not willing to really play the game for the same stakes that people you're going up against are playing for.

You can carry a hand gun as long as it is in plain view and not loaded. Say you have the hand gun holstered on your right side leg, you can carry the clip fully loaded with ammo as long as it is in your left side pocket.

Not many folk know about this law but it's real.

This is most definitely NOT common practice at ANY MP's that I've ever visited in 14 years of visiting AMP in Southern California.

Better to turn around, go down the street, and find a more experienced mamasan.

I don't see how handing over your DL would protect them or ensure their safety. Cops have drivers licenses too.

Unless they've recently been robbed or something like that?

Also, the way I dressed and spoke, she knew I was not from there. She wanted to look at my driver's license, I assume, to see where I was from and check my age. It's not as if I looked like a criminal either, so I seriously doubt she was fearful of me sticking up the place. That was the one and only time I was asked to show my driver's license at a massage parlor.

At most, the MPs have a lame sign in sheet and I usually write a fake name, and if it asks for more info like address and phone, I make that up as well. But those places that do that are few and far between.

There was an AMP on Santa Monica Blvd near 26th that used to ask for an ID. It was a little scary but you got the best massages there. If tongue baths are your idea of a good massage.

The City of Santa Monica requires AMPs to record license information. That's the only reason they do it. The AMPs in santa Monica don't like the law because it hurts their business. They realize most mongers don't want to show their name and many go to LA AMPs instead.

This practice has been going on in Santa Monica for many years. Nobody has ever been hurt (or prosecuted) by showing their license even though it makes us all uncomfortable. The list of names is destroyed by the AMPs regularly, I believe daily. If showing the DL bothers you, go outside of Santa Monica. You won't get hurt if you give them your DL.

So close to a Porshe dealer, you can probably take a 911 for a test drive, make a quick pitstop, and cruise back with an adrenaline crash look on your face. Don't recommend Vivian due to big face, but there may be other world-class mechanics available.

I used to go to OSM on SMO Blvd. and when they'd ask for my ID, I would tell them that I lived a few blocks away and walked there w/o my wallet. Somehow I was able to bypass the rules when I pulled out a roll of cash. A few times they wanted me to fill out a 411 card, which was easy enough to just write down my alias and a fake address.

i agree on the SM tip. All parlors that have asked for ID have been in SM ive never had any trouble arise in any way by giving them my info, i was single back in the day so i didnt care as much but i would be a bit more catious now though. By the way the amp over the 7-11 is in West Hollywood not SM.
