I've been reading a lot of posts about hookernomics / mongernomics on the backpage forum lately, and have seen reviews take drastic turns when prices change. There's also common chatter about "negotiating" lower prices. I'm not going to drill down the data and try to find a correlation. But I suspect it's there. I suspect it because we're paying for a service, and when you ask someone to lower their value, a reduction in service quality would seem appropriate. (They probably don't enjoy being with us to begin with) That's why I don't try negotiating prices with these girls. If I'm in at the price they want I'll roll the dice and hope I've picked a winner. Sometimes I win sometimes I lose. But I never spend money I can't throw away, and that's how I walk away not feeling like I've been ripped off. (Although I may be disappointed).

Try negotiating prices at the bar, and see how it works out.

You- "Give me your best beer in a frosty mug!

Bar tender- OK that'll be 10.

You- but I can get the other bars best beer for 7. 50 and I've had a great time there.

Bar tender- so you only have 7. 50?

You- I didn't say that. But I don't want to pay 10.

Bar tender- OK I can serve you the 7. 50 beer you want.

Bar tender puts beer on the bar near you and goes about doing bar stuff, occasionally glancing your way to see how you're doing.

You see them tap you a lake frost (but you've seen reviews that they have new gorgeous). Your not happy and won't repeat.

The review: So I go to Moe's Tavern and expect the best, but I see condensation marks on the bar like they never clean, the bar tender was a bioch that gave me an attitude, and the beer wasn't great. She also never came back to see how I was doing or if I was ready for a refill. I had high hopes after the great reviews about new gorgeous in frosty mugs, and I read that they were super friendly, but I'll never go back there again. The coldest thing in the place was the hag behind the bar!

I think you hit it pretty close to the mark. The only time I've negotiated I wanted 45 min. We came to an agreeable amount and it works out fine. I think it's human nature to want prime rib for the price of McRib.

I get it, if a monger pays list price and feels they didn't get what was advertised, but to chisel down 20% and expect the same service is. Yeah.
