I find it useful every now and again to go back and review things such as mission statements as well as the rules & posting guidelines we all agree to when we join and participate in such great, helpful sites like this Forum. Here are my favorites for this Forum:

General Politeness: This reminds me of the old saying about pornography "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it". The same holds true for recognizing uncivil behavior: "General Politeness" just means referring to other Members with a minimal level of civility.

This Forum allows us to post what we experienced and our opinions on providers and the hobby in general. It even provides a PM function so that we can act like adults offline and not engage in public discord with no useful return. When we attack a person over their opinion and statements about their experiences from their perspective, we have subjugated the entire basis of free speech and the very reason for this Forum, a free exchange of information, from the personal perspective of the hobbyist.

If I wanted to waste time and bandwidth I'd waste it on FB, Twitter or some other social media whose sole purpose isn't to facilitate sex between consenting adults. I think every posting should be an attempt to facilitate those adult activities. Anything else is not only wasted effort, but quickly approaches a level of ridiculousness and hilarity that is usually not found among an adult population.

If those are the rules they should be officially and conspicuously posted. And if those are the rules why do they not include the bright red warning found below the posting form? And who are you to advise on rules anyway?

First amendment rights don't apply to private web sites, since our servers are in a country where there isn't even a semblance of democracy I guess we are double covered. I take my work pretty seriously because I'm getting paid to do it. I'm kind of old school like that. I believe if a person pays me money to do a job then I need to do the job the way that person says so. One of Jax's rules are if you want to write something in a language besides English you have to provide a translation as well. I remember the post you're talking about and it wasn't two words, it was over half the post. I threw a flag, no big deal. I didn't even put you on moderation, though I have now due to this post.

If you want to call us assholes while we provide this forum for you free of charge I insist that you do it on a fight thread. Notice how I didn't say you couldn't do it, I said you have to do it here. If you find our rules so horribly restrictive, you're more than welcomed to look elsewhere.

The vast majority of our 400,000 members find our policies to be pretty relaxed, there are a minority though that seem to forget that they are guests here and just like guests are expected to wipe their feet before coming in and not smack your host in the face.

Again, you're welcomed to stay, but if you think we are fucking nazi's why in the hell would you?
