Massage Parlor Reports

Here is the gist of the story from WBKN. Com:


"Joan Sullivan moved back to Warren last February. One problem stuck out to her in the area: Possible human trafficking.

"I think human trafficking is a national issue. And then it trickles down to smaller problems," Sullivan said Thursday during a committee meeting at Warren Council Chambers.

This isn't a new problem in Warren. City Council and the Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative spent months researching 10 suspicious massage parlors within the city limits.

"We believe these spas are a front for human trafficking where the girls will come in, they will provide services for two or three weeks and then they will be moved to another location," Sullivan said.

Sullivan suspects some parlors of illegal activity, but so far there haven't been busts at any of the city's current parlors.

"According to law enforcement, they don't have any record of any illegal activity," said 6th Ward Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold.

Just to be safe, the MVOC recommended that all recreational masseuses in Warren get another 100 hours of certified training, any immigration forms must be displayed and unusual business hours be regulated.

"A lot of these people that come to the spas, you know, they don't necessarily want to be seen. That's why it's easier to do it in the evening time," Sullivan said.

Warren has legislation on massage parlors already in the works. But many block watches in the area didn't think the bill was strong enough.

That's where the MVOC came in. Council said the new legislation would help investigations move along.

"If there is illegal activity being done, we like to make certain that activity ceases," Saffold said.

"Other areas have done it. So I think Warren can do it too," Sullivan said.

Warren City Council will vote on the bill Sept. 1."


Human trafficking? Really? Come on. I think this is the hook that they want to hang the whole law on which to me is total fabrication. It's just an angle for them to "extort" money either from the government and / or the spas. Doesn't human trafficking involve children. At least that was what they were saying earlier. Notice they've left that out in this report because it's all bogus. When have any of us seen a child work at the spas? I mean most of the women working there are 30 years or up. Look at the immigration laws. They don't allow Korean women under 30 years to come over because of the possibility of them working at the spas. That's why you don't see anyone younger than that. Their whole angle is total bunk and that is what I'm calling them out on. It's total bullshit. Maybe I'll call out more on the others involved. I understand these communty groups but most of the spas are in business districts away from the neighborhoods. I remember reading an article once that attribute storefront churches maybe contributing to the rise of crime in the neighborhood than anything else. Should I introduce legislation banning storefront churches or any churches in the neighborhood because they might contribute to the crimerate. And yeah, they don't contribute economically to the area and they don't pay taxes. So why don't we tax them them. Make them get a license to operate within city limits. And human trafficking. Ohhhh, I see evidence of that in their Sunday and Summer Bible schools and look at all the buses they use to move people around. Now that's human trafficking.

There is just too much pressure coming from the people of Warren and all the information floating around really put the spas under the microscope.

Warrren is known as the Happy Ending capitol of the world and it was only a matter of time that the state would get involved. My connections to certain people told me that the Spas will be

Shut down. It will be this year.

Best to stay away from them for now as there will be more scrutiny of people going into these places.

If the authorities want to watch me go into one of these places, I really don't care. I get great massages, and tip appropriately. What is the problem? I do not offer money for sex, and I think most on this board are probably doing the same. I just can't figure out why you have a burr up your butt about the spas.

Several years back I was caught up in one of the investigations. I used to go to these places a lot. Had my reasons. One of them was for a massage. When the FBI came to my door, I was lucky because I was single. Had no wife or kids to worry about. Nothing ruins a marriage more than being found out that you were fooling around on the side. Ask Ahhhhnold Schwartzenegger. I even got calls at work from LEO. Try explaining that to your boss!

I would hate to see anyone have their lives ruined when a LEO calls about something that they can only talk to you about. Your boss, wife or family will want to know what you were doing in Warren that would have the police or FBI calling. Yeah, the FBI. I went to a few out of state spas and they knew I was in those too. Showed me photos of me walking in with exact times and how long I was in the spas. For the record, I have been to spas in Warren, Toledo, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Atlanta, Tampa and even a spa in Connecticut. Oriental Sauna was my favorite in Warren. Connie, Sue Gi, and many other women there were, ahhhemm, good friends of mine. Four Season was also a hang out. July and so many other women I cannot remember their names. Visited the spa in Ashtabula. Jackie at Hawaii spa and I had many many nights of becoming good friends. My vacations even revolved around the spas. I had many visits to Nashville when Nashville was the spa Mecca. Got my first STD there. Spent lots of time and money at Lisa's Caberet in Akron. Laura and Madison were my favorites there. I was even called by LEO when they shut down Lisa's. I was even into the strip club scene and spent lots of time in Tampa. Been to most of the strip clubs in Ohio and surrounding states. I was a member of the private club in Cleveland that had several women available. I was even at Stage Door Johnnies in Cleveland the night that Marilyn Chambers got arrested. Yeah, I knew Marilyn. Spent many a gallon of gas cruising Prospect avenue. Cruised the streets of Cleveland, Akron, Canton. I was a hound. So much for my bonafides.

Look, been there done that. It was in my past. I no longer even think of going to the spas. I had an awakening that made me re think what I was doing. Lets just say I saw the LIGHT.

When the state attorney general (MIke Dewine) gets involved, you can be sure that the spa days in Warren are just about over.

Guys, I am not trying to preach to you as to why you should not go anymore to the spas. I just want to warn you that it happened to me and it could very well happen to you. I was lucky. I have heard that there were quite a few guys who got caught up in the spa shutdown in Wheeling that caused divorce and financial heartache for those who were seen going into the spa. I have friends who were into the spa scene and they all were contacted as part of investigations. They regret going now as they are all divorced.

This is not a safe sex diatribe. It is a smart sex warning. It may be just too hot to think about going to Warren. Go if you must. But remember I warned you.

You were driving home one night very late and fell asleep at the wheel because of your activities. Which resulted in a very bad accident. Now you can't get around anymore and feel the need to post on this thread about how terrible we all are. Your own selfish actions caused the accident from what I understand. Pot/kettle/black.

Nothing worse than someone posting over and over: "I told you so". Most of us on here do not exercise your old glutonous behavior. Usually, what you dislike in others if what you really dislike about yourself. Please spend your time to focus on your own self improvement. Maybe some day you can redeem yourself in your eyes. Volunteer somewhere like a soup kitchen. It's much more beneficial than posting on here where most of us are all grown adults. In just about any other country including Canada and Mexico going to get a massage is not a big deal. It's very disengenuous of you to be posting because of your history. If you could still play then you certainly would still be at it.

If you could still play then you certainly would still be at it.[/QUOTE]Nope. I recovered and am able to walk normal and do everything I was able to before. I had chest trauma that caused my heart to stop beating. Steering wheel went into my chest and squashed me like a bug.

I just don't want to do any of that any more. It was in my past. Lets just say I saw the light.

I am not saying how terrible you all are. I cannot point fingers as I was probably way more into it than most. You can take this for what it is worth. For some, a wife and family are at stake. Many others will just shrug this off and laugh. That's OK too.

It matters not to me that anyone takes this advice or not. I am just warning those with enough smarts to stay away till things get cooled down. I hate to see families broken up and guys working their lives away to pay for alimony and child support. I've seen that happen to others who got caught in the investigations. Warren is getting serious with shutting down the AMPs and the State attorney general is now involved. You cannot deny that.

It is just words to the wise. For others, it is just casting pearls before the swine.

With all the construction work they did, they certainly had to pull permits with the city. City could have made that whole process very difficult if they had wanted to. And if they didn't do the proper permits, the city could have been over there at the new site giving them all kinds of grief.

As for state and federal LE, who knows if Warren is a priority? There are something like 10 spa's in Warren alone. You know how much planning and resources it would take to shutdown all these spa's? Was pretty telling this past week when the city was talking about changing a bunch of regulations related to the spa's. State and fed's probably told Warren to clean up their own problems.

Well, I won't say its nothing, but it's a long way off from Sammy et all doing the perp walk. The MVOC is not a branch of the government, and has no real power, although, sure, they have the local media's ear and can raise embarassing questions for the local politicians and government figures at council meetings or fire off press statements and sternly worded letters to the Vindicator or the Tribune.

Still, I'm not sure what kind of planning and resources it would take to shut down the spas; it would seem you'd need little more than a couple plainclothesmen going to a spa and doing enough to be offered the services the spas are alleged to provide in addition to massages. Then you've got enough to come through the door and seize cash, records, credit card machines, computers, used condoms, assuming those things exist, or at least go before a judge and get a warrant such that the next time you send an officer in to get a massage, you can come through the door with. Well, actually, then you'd probably need the men close enough the guy in the parking lot can see them, and he can call someone and say something like "attention Kmart shoppers, there are a couple vans sitting in the parking lot, everyone keep their noses clean," and I'd be pretty surprised if, given what a fixture the places have been on the local scene, uh. You know, there isn't someone who'll tell someone what's coming down the road, etc. Etc.

All in all, I wouldn't worry too much.

While I do get tired of Jeep's rants, I will not be visiting Warren during the three weeks leading up to November elections. I suspect that the news reports and press releases will be very prominent then, but I also suspect that come 2012, most of it will disappear.
