Asian Spa Po Po Traffic Stop
Don't do that.
The justification to bust a spa is built up over weeks or even months. They don't raid or send in an undercover right off. They will begin with lower effort investigation or information gathering. They'll dig through the garbage of the business and look for condoms or wrappers. They'll stop customers as they leave and ask what they were doing. When the customer blabs everything, as you say you did, this builds the case against the business and provides justification for escalated actions like busts.
When they ask what you were doing at a spa, just decline to answer or say "Respectfully, I'm going to take the fifth". The outcome will be the same for you as the customer, but you won't build the case against the spa.
I had an experience regarding being stopped by law-enforcement after leaving an Asian massage spa late one evening and am sharing it here. It was awhile ago but the circumstances are relevant and could apply to anyone being stopped. No reason to disclose place as it could be any spa anywhere.
But how I handled it as it unfolded could be helpful to others in similar situations. To give it context it was near closing time. I was likely the last customer, it was a weekend night and I was driving in a new red sports car (a rental. Not bragging) but perhaps a little too conspicuous for the Po Po not to engage me. I spotted the car parked across the street in an empty strip mall across from the spa I just walked out of. When I pulled out of the parking lot they followed. Got pulled over (unmarked Ford Taurus with wig-wag lights) a plain-clothes detective comes to my drivers side while another stands to the rear of my vehicle.
A little intimidating, yes, but I just kept my cool as I was very relaxed from my session LOL. Cop asks for license & registration which I had ready, then asks me "Where am I coming from?" Well obviously he knew where I was coming from so my instant reply was "the massage spa right across from where you pulled out of". Letting him know I saw him pull out after me. He then asks "What'd you do there?" like we are pals shooting the shi t.
I hesitated but then my reply was "I received a very nice & relaxing massage" He replies "Oh yeah? . anything else?" My answer "It was very therapeutic as I have lower back pain and nerve damage" (all BS) "I recommend you check it out. Ask for the hard massage you'll sleep like a baby”. I thought he would crap himself. He was literally speechless. It was funny. He didn't know what to say. Then I said "And you know what? Afterwards they gave me a bottle of water which is a nice touch" which I show him as I took a sip.
Think about it. He wasn't there. He doesn't have any knowledge of what transpired. He's just reaching and hoping I get scared and spill my guts.
He then goes back to the cruiser with the other cop guess he runs my plates / license to see if I got anything I had nothing he came back handed me my stuff and says "Have a good night". And walks away. Its over and I drive away. You're only guilty if you act guilty or tell them anything to implicate yourself. There is no law against getting a massage. That's what you went there for. Thats what you got. Nothing else. They can't charge you with anything cause they got nothing. Keep it simple stupid!
I know a lawyer will say don't say anything which has validity as well but your not a criminal for getting a massage and it's a business open in whatever city providing therapy to customers who are in need of relief. As long as your cool and not a nervous Nellie fidgeting around like a psycho you have no reason to fear the police.
Hope someone gets insight from my story if something similar happens to them.
Peace.
