Not only did the Grove St. / Henry St. Area dry up but so did the Passaic Ave stroll between 8th St and Market St. , the Myrtle & Broadway area, the Monroe St. Stroll between 4th St & Market St. , and the Howe Ave stroll all dried up as well. In part that was due to the various low-income places in that area going away (2 on Howe Ave closed, one just off of Passaic burned down, a couple of off Monroe were shut down pending demolition which still hasn't happened years later), and in part due to increased police presence in all those areas.
Passaic used to be a great place to go for sex - 5 adult books stores and 2 adult theaters (Montauk and the Capital) all in about a 5-10 block radius. Now, it's mostly just the massage parlors. I know of about 8 Asian places and, if they are still there. It's been a while - 2 Russian / Polish spread throughout the city.
