I must agree with the post about SWs not being what they used to be. I have not been up here but a couple years but in the 70s and 80s down south the sw scene was much better. It was like going to a buffet. Drive along and pick the one who looked best to you. I think the problem is that the streets are much different now than they were then. Not saying they are safer but just that the dangers are much different. Plus, I think that with the internet the better SWs don't have to walk the streets to find clients. The smart ones found that the internet chat rooms and CL are safer and more productive. The old days were fun. Now I find that I have to burn a lot more gas to find anything. And sometimes what I find is not worth it.

Yesterday, I drove the south loop. Found one WSW on greenfield sitting in a doorway. Did not even stop although there was a lot of eye contact. Just looked too dirty and smelly to mess with. Gonna try CL again. May have some good things to report.

BG[/QUOTE]I'm totally jealous that I missed out on the 70s and 80s golden age of SWs. I feel cheated. I'm a Gen Xer and it seems as if the Baby Boomers have had all their fun and now that they're staring down the barrel of old age they have thrown a sh't load of cops on the streets.

What your attempting to do is make a comparison to the so called sexual revolution days 1970 to 1985 to present day times and that would be almost impossible. Over the years the PFP hobby has been watered down to almost a variety show by providers, massage, HJ's maybe a little covered sex and don't forget it's by the hour or half hour back then it was over when you said it was or when you drained your balls with them also the legal system was not enforcing the laws that much on the pay for sex business like it dose now days. The facts were that most men went to the single bars for a one night stand with a freebie unless they wanted some kinky stuff like Lefty would write about that the freebies would not do.

Providers and SW's back then had a different attitude toward sex and there clients many bragged and statted ( there's not a trick that I cant turn) these statements were most likely made to increase there business because of the freebie competition and another thing was SW's and escorts were mostly high quality college age girls working there way through school but all came to a abrupt halt about 1985 when Aids and the Herppies virus were discovered then it all started going down hill to the situation we got now.

But then again a little fun with the ladies of the evening is better than no fun at all:)

Your right on about that, most of the strolls way back then were in the downtown area also a big stroll was along the lake front at the upper east side of Milwaukee. You could spot at least twenty to thirty of good quality SW's all dressed up with make up. most had rooms in the upper east side to take you to cause FS was always on the menu.

Meanwhile, the Madison area had there stroll just off the capitol square on east Main st. by the Dangle Lounge strip club and other provider take out bars. Certain nights you could spot at least ten to twenty quality SW's but most of them had cars to pick up hobbyists in and proceeded to a wast side motel room. Rates were $50, $75, $100. depending on what you wanted to do and for how long. FS. BB. was always on tap and most of them were college girls or girls from the biker gangs who wanted to raise money for there biker parties.

Seeing on how things are going around Milwaukee now days, maybe a little past history of the hobby would be interesting for some.

Back in the mid 70s streetwalkers were abundant in a few different locations in the Milwaukee area. North 3rd Street (now MLK Drive)from Center Street to North Ave was probably the busiest along with North Avenue from 27th Street to 33rd. Also downtown Milwaukee usually between Plankinton Ave and 6th Street was also a great spot to look too. There use to be a strip club on 5th and Wisconsin called the Voom Voom Room. On 5th and Wells a 24 hour restaurant was a great spot to pick up a girl after bar time. Also on 5th and Michigan another titty bar and adult bookstore were next door to one another. Always alot of activity around those also. On the North Avenue stroll there were two bars on North between 28th and 29th called Cals and the other was named Club Detroit. Stop in for a drink and take your pick. Very open and the women were mostly all made up and wearing short skirts and heels. Wow! There also were streewalkers on 27th street from North Ave to Lisbon Ave. A bar on 27th and Lloyd was also a popular pick up place. Farther south on 27th from approx State Street to Michigan Ave you could find girls also. On 28th and Wisconsin the Leprecaun Lounge was a working girl hangout and still is today. Back to 3rd Street there was a 24 hour George Webb and if you stopped in front girls would run out to your car. Wes's on 3rd (still there)a place on 3rd and Vine by the name of Little Johns that was a dancing place and Curlys which was located a block south never had a shortage of girls loitering around looking to make some money. Those were the days. More to follow.

Great report on days of gone by, guess I wasn't that well informed as I thought I was back then as I was only a occasional hobbyist sometimes hanging out at the bars or strip clubs.

In recent years of high crime you may sometimes wonder if it's that safe to play the hobby game in those intercity bars and nite spots.

On the other hand, playing the hobby on the web or phone chat lines seems physically safe but many scams and role players that really don't work out to the real thing.

That's for sure it's not like it was out on the streets and the clubs in Milwaukee. The crack epidemic put a stop to that for sure. Sometimes I'm surprised when I read on here that guys were getting serviced in alleys and behind houses in unfamiliar surroundings. That's looking for trouble.

Thanks Ojwin for getting on the topic of what it was like on the streets of Milwaukee years ago. I cruised Milwaukee from about 1974 to 1985 and it was fun to start recalling what it was like back then. As far as the places to cruise ScooterAllCity seemed to hit it right on the head. I never remember anything happening on the south side. 5th street just S. of Wisconsin was a good place, but that was always where MPD would have there stings. You would never see any LSW'S mostly BSW's with an occasional WSW. Wisconsin Ave from 24th to 28 th and 27th and Wells was also a couple good spots. North Ave between 27 th & 35 th was also pretty good. I wonder if anyone remembers there used to be a house on 27 th st. about a block or so South of North Ave. on the West side of the street. Girls would always be out on the porch and would wave at cars. I am almost sure these girls were working, but I was pretty young and I was not brave enough to find out. this went on for a couple of years in the late 70's. I will add more shortly.

Sorry I was interrupted in the middle of writing my post.Getting back to the good old days I also remember some activity in front of the Wisconsin Hotel.That was I belive on 3 rd st. right off Wisconsin Ave. That was the hotel all the sailors would stay at and I guess the girls would stand out front and wait for them. But the one place you could always find a cluster of girls was on 3rd st just N. of North Ave.There was a phone booth right next to where the girls would stand, and of course we had the phone number. One night we called them up and pretended to be a foreign ship captain. We told them our ship had just docked at the Port of Milwaukee and had a boat load of horney sailors. We asked them if they accepted rupples, of course they said no so we told them we would check the safe to see if we had any american money.We told them we only had about 9 thousand dollars. They were like tell us how to get there were coming.We didn't belive they would come but we went down to the dock and just hung around. About 45 minutes later 2 taxi's pulled up .And about 10 BSW'S piled out. We never laughed so hard watching them stumble around in there hi heels trying to figure out how to get on the boat and causing quite a comotion.

As far as strip clubs go I remember going to the Voom Voom room but I don't remember if they even did lap dances. I also remembergoing to a club that was on the Illinois border I can't remember the name of it but I do remember the girls would always want you to go to the Terrace I never went but I guess it must have been like a VIP room did any of you guys ever go?

I moved away from Milwaukee about 20 years ago Iam in Southern California now and it is a mongers paradise. So if any of you Milwaukee guys are coming this way I have alot of information I could share with you.

Did anyone see any SW action on Xmas Eve or Day?

That house that Hugo is referring to is I believe two houses north of Brown Street on the west side of the street. They lived in the upper flat and were actually crossdressers. Yes those were guys. I remember a tall white "girl" with blond girl and a few black CDS. There also was a tavern on 27th and Lloyd St on the north east corner that was very popular to pick up a lady. The bar was called Browns I think. Also years ago I'm guessing the late 70's to early 80's Lisbon from 27th to 35th became the new track for the girls. Two new bars opened then. One was Wes's Chit Chat on the corner of 27th and Lisbon and Geralds on 32nd and Lisbon. Geralds had dancers also. The reason that all this activity came to this area was because of the building up and cleaning up of the 3rd Street area to become Brewers Hill. They closed most of the problem bars in that area so the people went elsewhere. More to come.

Also club owners in downtown Milw sent buses to the Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois to pickup the sailors on weekends. The USO was on 3rd Street between Wells St and Wisconsin Ave right across the alley from the Wisconsin Hotel. A great hang out for the ladies. Also the Princess Theatre was on the same block with its xxx films. There was on bar on Plankinton Ave where Mo's is now that was quite a popular hangout for the ladies. The name escapes me at the moment. More to come.

Hopefully more history lessons get posted, that sh't is fascinating to read. I started hobbying in the late 80s and feel completely ripped off that I didn't get to experience the 70s. From everything I've heard and read it was truly the Golden Age of hobbying.
