Just wanted to share with fellow hobbyists some amateur recording I got from a friend couple of years ago. Some people probably from the North Shore wrote parodies to some pop tunes from the 70s & the 80s covering choice places, towns and regions of our great Commonwealth.

Granted some of you might've already heard it. This set is really dated and reference to the beer at strip joint costing "the whole" $6, and the song dedicated to an anchorwoman named "Natalie", and mentioning the likes of Pee-wee Herman, Raymond Bourque and Larry Bird would make significantly more sense to those over 40. Knowledge of what various towns and places around Boston are historically famous for and their reputation would definitely enrich your experience. At least some sense of humor definitely is a must.
If you're really sensitive or if you're wholesale subscriber to the Politically Correct-ways of expressing things, this really is not for you because it is bound to get you off your equilibrium and that is something that I prefer not to have on my conscience.
Too bad the file link has been blocked now for violation.
But. I do remember some local folk / blues grass comedians playing at the Falcon Ridge Music Festival couple of years ago out in the western part of the state and one fellow did a great parody on Massachusetts towns. I can't remember all the lyrics but started out sounding almost like Bye Bye American Pie but went something like: I was driving around, and entered into Beverly. Chelsie. Ashby and a few other towns which had similar style feminine sounding names. When he finished up on those he mentions something about taking a turn and ending up in Lawrence. Lee. Leicester. Everett and a few other more male masculine sounding names which his voice then exhibited some aversion to, soo he makes a you-turn, and sometime later he re-enters into. Beverly!

There are, at least, two CDs. Funny stuff.
Too bad the file link has been blocked now for violation.
Really? I can still access the file download from my computer just by clicking on it. I wonder if it looks different from the account of the poster then from the other accounts. Anyone anything? It really is a hell of the compilation.
Tom's Townie Tunes. There are, at least, two CDs. Funny stuff.
Well, thank you very much! I was wondering who those people were. Now I'm going to get the second volume too. 'These Boots Were Made in Brockton', huh? That's already sounds promising not to say topical.
Tom's Townie Tunes. There are, at least, two CDs. Funny stuff.
Listen, you don't have volume II, do you? I tried to look for it on the web and couldn't find anything. There is a CD called "Unplugged" but it's a compilation of two volumes and I already have half of it. U-tube posts only one song about Bourne Bridge and BTW, there is cute tune about Brad Marchand

for those who follow the current Bruins run.
If anyone can share files for Tom's Townie Tunes, Volume II or has a set of loose audio files for Tom Doyle's tunes (besides those in Vol. I) and care to share them with me, I'd seriously appreciate it. Based on what I heard in Vol I, I have a feeling that I would really enjoy hearing the likes of "These Boots Were Made in Brockton" and "You don't mess around with Lynn".
Who knows I may even pull a UTR out of my secret vault in return.

Would you guys give a number to a contributing member, but never picked up SWS?. Seeing as that they don't have the experience, I wouldn't.
I had a strange experience yesterday and wonder if anyone has some insight as to what might have happened.
I got a call at home and the female caller asked for me by name. She identified herself and said she was waiting for me for my massage. I had never heard of her, and there was obviously some kind of confusion on both parts.
She knew my real name. But I never schedule massages on my home phone, only my monger phone. And very few people even know how much I'm into massage.
So I'm wondering if anyone might have a guess as to how someone might have scheduled a massage for me.

I found the article somewhat unsettling for us mongers and the massage providers but for homeland security I saw the values. I was going to post the article but the paper got tossed.
I would dare say that if they called you on your home # and knew full name that it was a setup of some sort. I have never known a provider to call and say they were waiting for you to show up or even know you by full name unless it was given out. Most of the time providers deal with no shows and simply move on. It would unusual if one was to call and ***** someone out for missing their appt.
Was this call from a legit place or a great place?

I had to tell them to stop calling me because they were calling 2-3 times a day. This was a few years ago.
