So I was in the area yesterday after seeing this post figured I'd give it a try. I pulled in to the parking lot which is the only way in and out. As I was getting ready to get out of the car and all black suburban pulled in and parked right on the driveway next to the building. Older gentleman gets out with something in his hands. One for safety and two for privacy. My car in a Burger King lot isn't going to have its plates run by the cops and I'm less likely to get it stolen in a robbery / setup by a pimp.

In a pinch I put them on the inside (under the car) of my rear passenger side tire, as I know it's too far for the car to recognize if someone pulls the handle. But I prefer somewhere farther away.

Take just the FOB. You can secure your phone, wallet, gun, physical keys, etc in a hidden location inside your vehicle (or in a bulky chained lockbox or whatnot). If someone does get your FOB, they can't drive your car, and have to deal with your hiding spot in your car or a locked box you have secured.
