More desireable assets will increase more than that and less desireable assets will decrease less than that. The inflation you experience will depend on what aspirations you want in life, the higher your aspirations the more inflation you will see. If you want to live in an apartment and eat hot dogs you'll see much less inflation than someone that wants to buy a vacation rental a Kardashian would want to show off on instagram.

The destruction of our manufacturing base is due to our insistence of using the USD as the world reserve currency. We force countries to make deals in USD under threat of violence or sanctions. Now imagine you are a country that takes out a loan of $10 B and have to pay back $12 B eventually. Where does that extra $2 B come from? You have to export $2 B more than you import. Now imagine you are the USA and you are importing more than you export because that is your foreign policy you are forcing on other countries. That means you are buying more things from other countries and selling less things to other countries. The glut of imports decrease prices in the US, the dearth of demand for exports decreases demand for US made things. The only industries that survive are industries that cannot be provided from other countries.

They can't, or won't or are trying but it's not as simple as a snap of the fingers and magically oil appears. Don't like Biden, I don't like him either but this isn't one you can hang on him. Not something most Americans have any knowledge of but it is in serious risk of falling apart and more relevant today than ever. Inflation is affecting lower income levels in a very real sense. If you are an apartment dweller you are seeing much higher rents. Food expenses are much higher. It's persons who can least afford it that are getting hurt by this the most.

I didn't get any raises except for cola for 10 years, then they let me go during covid. Recently they are begging for me to come back with a 33% raise. I will probably go back to work, but I don't need to.
