It is just an observation that immigration checks are more strict than before, even for domestic flights. It is a minor hassle for citizens, permanent residents, and valid visa holders. I had to show my citizenship status at certain airports or when driving near the border. Real ID on your DL is the easiest way to show this and will be required in the future. She was living in LV and commuting to LA. Last time I saw her (2nd Qtr 2023) she said she was retiring soon.
