Dawned on me recently, about the lack of action in our usual spots.

DUH. Elections are right around the corner. Typically, this is when the politicians put pressure on the LEO's to "clean up the streets", to give the appearance they are doing their jobs.

Seems to happen every 2-4 years, right around this time. It's certainly not in correlation with arrests. I check the "funny pages" every day, and I'm not seeing familiar faces with familiar charges.

An intel source of mine in FTL, tells me a lot of the pompano walkers have migrated south to HWD. That it's busy as hell down that way. I know HPD was running stings down there Tuesday (funny pages), but unlike Pompaho (where they get the girls first, then deploy the decoys), HPD scoops the girls up all the time (not necessarily in sweeps).

At any rate, aside from a couple of no-fly 24/7 walkers (young Amber, Kelsey, etc.), it's been pretty dead in all areas of Pompahoe. Though I have seen a couple of regulars between the (old) Exxon and Cypress (blonde Sarah, who's looking either preggo or just real fat, Sapphire).

I get the impression things will go "back to normal", after Nov 6 (VOTE RED). It's not like everyone just decided to stop using drugs. Look for an influx as the weather gets colder up north (snowbirds coming down for rehab and getting kicked out or walking out). We get a lot of "new talent", from the influx of northerners to the ever growing numbers of rehabs down here.

At any rate. My take on the slowness of the scene recently. As I mentioned in an earlier post. Either my standards have raised (not likely), or the prospects have fallen so much lower than my (already low) standards, that the few out there I just wouldn't even let into the car.
