It makes sense for others to minimize time and money and maximize their enjoyment. I'm happy to make newbies learn through others mistakes rather than their own, and I don't think they have to go through some rite of passage, paying dues, hazing and other stuff just to make it to the kgirls they want to bone. I really feel like this concept is why LA korgs are regarded as some kind of secret society with exclusivity. It really isn't, and this status hurts the average consumer. I am of the opinion you really don't need to spend this "down payment" or prepayment so that you can see who you actually want to see.
