It may cost an extra 10 to 20 over the regular rate but eliminates the risk of losing the room cost if she ghosts.

The App is the best option but if you're not a frequent user there are ways around checking in before the prize arrives. The first time is always the riskiest because she may bail because of cold feet. After you do the deed she may be more reliable if all goes well then you could take a chance of checking in early after a few repeat visits assuming that's what you're after.
