Mostly lurking but been trying to indulge lately. Pretty much every "provider" I contact has wanted payment upfront through cashapp or similar or with a gift card. Correct me if I am wrong but this seems to be a red flag for a scam. I have offered cash and been told "for my safety I only use apps or gift cards". Am I out of touch? Is this how it is done now or am I just having bad luck?

Don't pay in advance, don't do deposit and never get gift cards.

Looking for a motel on W. New Haven. Does anyone have any suggestions fo a moderately priced one that will let you check in at any time (looking for late morning). Any accept cash instead of a credit card? Do any have hourly or half day rates?
