Doing so encourages more info sharing and helps avoid characters who might be a bit shady. Quality and tone of posts is as important as quantity.

In the past I have used it as one signal the person is real and to get a feel for their interest and degree of sexual openness. I guess it was not generating enough business. In my view almost everything on their list could be bought elsewhere for half the price.
