In my opinion if we are talking 2000's and more recent the golden age of mongering was between the end of the 08 recession and when adultfax got shut down. During that time prices were relatively cheap, upsell was almost non existent and BBFS was readily available but less talked about which meant your atf's would stick around longer and give better service overall. Relatively easy to find providers and pictures tended to be more accurate. People were still struggling to get back on their feet so providers were less busy which meant it wasn't uncommon to have your apt stretch way past the apt time.

Now in my opinion we are in the "instant gratification" phase of mongering. Everything is openly discussed and you know what you're going into. Only downside is providers are busier, upsell is more common, times are more strict, and your hidden gems don't stay hidden haha. This age of mongering has its perks though.
