So asking someone to read the entire thread to find a particular piece of information is kind of like sending them into a 10,000 square foot warehouse full of rolls of printer paper, where everything they need to know about a topic is typed and put away ("but don't worry, those thousands of rolls of paper are in chronological order, you'll get through it in only a few weeks or months even as more rolls are added on a weekly basis!!"

I have suggested smarter ways of dealing with this many times in the past, but they have never taken off.

Albert Einstein was quoted as saying that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Continually growing the thread while simultaneously expecting every new user to start at page one and wade their way through, retaining every bit of info they encounter seems like full-on mandatory asylum committal time to me.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Internet figured out that FAQs and some feeble attempt at topic organization solves this problem sometime around 15 or 20 years ago.

Not trying to step on anyone's toes, but improvement doesn't occur all by itself. If I had the ability to single-handedly solve the problem I would have done it months ago. Repeating the same thing over and over clearly has not worked, and it's only going to become less effective as the thread grows larger.

As with all things in life, there are two sides to every coin. The backup rotation is nice. The upside. Hot young 20 somethings who get wet for an older guy, and who let me have their way with them. Why not keep them in rotation, right?

I've not yet met one that minded that at all, in fact they mostly seem to prefer it. For some reason of fate, she waited to confront him and did not just show up at his front door to meet his wife.

Long story short, he somehow pacified her, and she agreed for the time, not to show up at his house. He fed her a, "made for movie" excuse, but he knows once he can't see her, pacify her, or accommodate her, she will likely run to his home. The girl does not let shit go and recycles everything in her mind. I'm sure some of you more seasoned veterans get the type of girl she is. She will ruin him and everything he knows, if she shows up. She is not the type of girl who he can tell her and offer to buy her off. He really does love this girl, but come on, she's some 25 years younger and there is no future.

Anyone with any very creative ideas here on how to handle this? I feel responsible for having brought him into this. Confessing to either his wife or the girl, is not going to be an option. He has to end it peacefully and prevent her curiosity from showing up at his front door.This girl has made my buddy her fucking life. She is all in with him. One of his ideas was to just end it and make his wife believe he got caught up with some very bad people he screwed over and they threatened to tell her he was having an affair, so when this little girl shows up, she might slightly accept it. I told him his wife is smarter than that and the two of them probably would end up having a chat. Personally, I think my buddy is totally fucked. I don't think this one goes away even with a envelop full of large bills, she will want revenge.

I think as a just in case, your friend should see a divorce attorney so that he can be prepared for worst case scenario. Trying to buy off the girl will just lead to more trouble if she keeps coming back to the cash cow.

This might be crazy, but since you're single is it possible for you to slowly slide into her life and deflect some of that unwanted attention / afffection? You'd be taking one for the team but if you can get an "introduction" and offer her the attention and the "future" she craves, she may lose interest in your friend. Eventually, she'll be your crazy to deal with.

Others will have creative ideas that will be more user friendly than mine. But only in the FC, except in rare circumstances. But my days of expensive anything have come to a halt.

With the difference being my gf knew from day one I was unhappily married. Tell the gf you're married, then just tell her to go ahead and tell the wife. Mine used to threaten all the time and actually parked outside my house but didn't have the nerve to go to the door. She finally stole my phone during an argument one day and texted my wife what was going on. Made my life hell for a bit, but the wife got over it. To be honest, I didn't really give a shit other than having to hear my wife constantly piss and moan about it. Yes I always treat them like any other date, and for whatever reason in the civy dating world I have always treated my date the same whether I was eyeballing her for long-term material or if I was just in it for a one night stand. It's not something I do intentionally, just what comes naturally I guess. I do have an SO to worry about but I never date SBs anywhere near my home, only during travel.
