I first reached out in the morning, and had scheduled for the evening. The mishap happened at least 3 hours before the appointment time and there's no way a raincoat would have covered the sizable nick.

Maybe I'll get lucky and she'll have forgotten by the time she visits SD again. Lesson learned: Trim at least a day or two before, and be more careful.
