I will say that, especially if you are not Korean, the hostess places are almost comically brazen in their fleecing of the customer. It can still be fun though.
Last one I went to was the now-defunct Club Eve (in Doraville). I dressed very well (this is important) and was greeted very pleasantly by the main hostess (or whatever the "mama san" is called in that setting). Limited privacy with walls that only go up part way. Friendly enought staff but medium at best for massage.

There are about four or five places right off Medlock that are legit and you pay 60 per hour and I believe four-hand in the range of 100 per hour. It might also offer the added benefit of increasing your comfort level whilst in that clinical prone position you mentioned.

But second visit I think you are pretty much guaranteed to get it if you pursue it. And if you do it is not DIY.
I seriously messed up my back a few days ago and wanted to get some therapy. All my usual spots were booked up so I wandered down to H-Massage. It's very hit or miss. This visit was a miss. Went to pileo today in s springs after seeing it mentioned here. Certainly that's working in this case, and yes, if I were an AMP provider and thought I could make decent money by stringing guys along with a tease, I'd do it. Why put out more than I have to?
As to whether it's good or bad, I think it's really neutral or perhaps not relevant, because trying to cajole or urge consumers not to exercise their perception of value never works. We, as a freely purchasing and non-organized consumer group, are like water in a vessel. The price / service equation will find its natural level. There will always be those for whom the lesser value offering (ie, the tease) is worth it (our friend Itsart) and those for whom it's a complete waste of time and money.
But that goes for every other item of value. Every time someone pays an exorbitant price for a sports or music ticket, it makes it just that much harder for me to see the same event for what I consider to be fair and reasonable price. I want to ding those people across the noggin for spending so much, because in my mind, it sends the wrong message. But then, so it goes with everything, hotel rooms at crowded venues, flowers during Valentine's day, airfares over Thanksgiving, ad nauseum.
In the end though, I realize I also enjoy the fruits of this free market situation. The comparatively lower prices I can score if I'm willing to not go with the herd. Therefore, I travel on "shoulder" months, eat out on Wednesday nights, and fly overseas for legal sex options that most guys won't do. It's a matter of perspective. While I acknowledge the pressure on prices that Itsart's action cause for the rest of us, I can't say he's wrong for deciding the value proposition is appropriate for him. No more than I'd want him doing that to me for spending more than he would on some items I find more valuable than he.

The main point of this board seems to find the willing, which is a much purer motive than seducing the unwilling. My fun evolved from after years of getting massages with legit american providers led to fun short term affairs. I actually avoided the Korean rub and tug shops for years and it wasn't until the Chinese started opening the legit shops that I started trying my luck with Asians. I am happily married and get as much sex as I want at home. At the same time I enjoy the chase of attracting someone new with as little risk as possible to my marriage. This hobby keeps me young in ways but maintains a stability in my real life. I work hard to stay in shape and keep the body of someone much younger in order to make sure I am not ignored as unreasonably old if an attraction from the AMP does emerge. I am sure I would get a couple of massages a week if I had never had any extras. For many the extras are the primary driver and the massage is gravy.
