When I asked what happened, she said that her previous client "sounded white" on the phone, but when he got there and she found out he was AA, she told him she wouldn't see him. He got mad and smashed something. That whole situation is sad from a number of different viewpoints. He took a shot to see her and failed. That was probably overwhelmingly frustrating when you consider how much time we often invest to see a provider. Sad because she wouldn't see him due to his race. And sad that he smashed something of hers or the motels in reataliation. But it's going to happen and it just needed to be handled on an individual basis. When a provider says "No AA" our AA monger brethren probably just need to call, ask politely if they would consider to see them even though they're AA and then go from there. They will need to let us know the success rate in those situations and I would be interested to know the results.
