How much do these girls actually make? Just doing some google research of some of these bigger name stars and the general total net worth is about $3-5 million. Yet they are on OF and Twitter begging for money.
They don't make much from the porno shoot. I had pornstar / escort tell me 300-1500 per shoot, and a shoot can take up half a day. Just like any influencer they make money by using their name to promote products and events. The real money is owning the rights to the video content. Shooting porn is mainly use to keep them relevant, and in the general porno viewing public interest.

The production because keep all the rights so they just make the daily rate. All the legends are broke as well. The people who are making money online are not the porn chicks.

Lesbian scenes average less than 1 k. Big names can command twice as much for these same shoots, but these are a small percentage of the overall talent. Everyone gets a flat rate, no percentages or residuals.
Male talent get paid much less in mainstream porn, which is why most of them also perform gay / trans porn for higher pay, plus male escorting. Every big name male star has sucked dick and taken it up the ass. Just recently one of these guys caught HIV while moonlighting, causing a production hold.
As "contractors" these girls must also carry a lot of the overhead, paying out of pocket for mandatory STI testing every two weeks, flights, lodging, meals, and in many cases (low budget website shoots) must also provide their own makeup and wardrobe. This obviously cuts into their profits considerably.
This is why so many girls try to leverage their name recognition into OF / webcamming, escorting, or sugar dating.
And yes, the content owners are the ones making serious money. The biggest stars of the 80's, 90's, and 00's have all spent their checks long ago, while the video companies continue to make fresh sales off their content.

The ladies you googled got into distributing their own content among other things like directing and some making big bucks on the strip club scene. That's why there is always a new face in porn. Some just can't make that 15 minutes of fame into a business or don't know where to start even. Some on drugs most on drugs.
