Drove by 14 the other evening but didn't want to bother with the doorman/bouncer.
I have always done the tip at the end. And never had a moments discussion on amount or what it would be. I have never personally experienced discussion of the tip anytime beforehand. Its always thank you. Lets call it assumed, if you walked in like you knew what you were doing.
A little birdie tells me things.
There was this guy, see, who decided to visit the Royal Spa on 10th st. He parks and decides to enjoy a beverage and get the vibe of the neighborhood. Ok, everything looks good, no pigtails or anything. Next he decides to do the block walk (more recon.) to check things out a little further. The only flag is the fact the lights aren't on (the joint is on the 2nd floor). Funny. Well. Keep moving. Time to pee. Visit the HR cafe across the street and smile the whole time you're in there. Ok, back outside (I love that place). Do a bit more looking around. Still no lights. No matter this guy (ok. Bob) decides to ring anyway. Yellow fever very bad. Need antidote. So next some homeless dude decides to tap Bob on the shoulder. WTF? "the place got raided. Like two days ago. Hic. Urp. " No shit. Ok, time to move to the next place. Maybe GPS don't fail me now. Homeless (we'll call him Joe) decided to follow Bob to his ride.
Coversation between Bob and Joe. Turns out these homeless are treasure troves of info. Who would have thought a bum would know about 14K and the 'tattoo' sign above the entrance, much less that's it's underground. Who knew? Certainly not Bob. So, Joe tells him the place is jumpin' with hotties from all over. Bob get's pumped up, gives homeless Joe $2 and some change. Joe smiles and walks off. Next we see Bob in the 'hood of 14K.
The story will continue when the line goes down at the club upstairs of 14K. Stay tuned kiddies.

I'm not expecting a good follow-up. It's my understanding that 14k has been closed for awhile. As in I've tried to dropped by most days this week and it's been closed.

I used to get service-first-pay-later at the old Sun club. I think the providers name was Cherry or Candy (candy sounds right) or something, its been awhile (6 yrs or so? ). Freaked me out a little at first but this gal would assume you came for her great AR, BJ, FS, & GFE (! ) so she would get down to business as early as the TS and then simply hold her hand out for a tip after all was done. I fell in love with her and came back to see her as often as able. Sun closed its doors shortly after though. Cry.

I usually tip afterwards too. I think 1818 is the only place that I have tipped up front. I do use the LL method of leaving the $ under my sunglasses or my cell phone on the table where it can be seen. (cell phone that is turned off!!)

Seeing that 14K was closed, I stopped by Vermont for the first time after it reopened (knowing that they offered less services). Attitude and service, unfortunately, was too businesslike there - will not return.
I am an occasional visitor to DC, and always attempt to visit an AMP while in the District. Unfortunately, I am always at the mercy of the Metro. Today I arrived for a two day stay, and even with the regular research I do by RTFF, I was still blanked tonight.
I walked to 1413, Green, and Supra and all were closed. I had hoped at least one would be re-opened, but alas, I didn't get any Korean food tonight. I walked past ICM, and it appeared open, but I seem to remember from the Forum that services there were neither asian nor complete.
If any regulars would be willing to IM me with either information about ICM or other advice, I'd appreciate it. I have one more night to play.
