I disagree only because I've been using the same script for the past few years and I've had a 95% success rate with setting up an appointment. But it could be true that maybe my number was blacklisted and she found out by searching through the "blacklist", which is used by some of these providers to determine whether to setup an appointment or not and who to warn about. There could be many reasons why our conversation lasted too long, but personally, I wouldn't want to see that a provider again if she was on phone during our session and certainly not if she's asking for some sort of deposit.
