You are comparing the CHEAPEST MB against the most expensive Chevy. That's like comparing SW Snowflake against a genuine high end escort that charges $1000/ hr. The "average" new car price for all 2021 models to date is around $35,000 base. The average price consumers are actually paying for new cars is $40,850. This is because very few people buy "base cars" but for this topic, we can considered it average.
Let's keep using averages since you say "most" can afford a MB. The average base price (no options) of a MB is $53.600. The average base price of a Chevy (including all the huge SUVs and Bigger Consumer Trucks like a 3500) is $31,250. The average Chevy is in MOST people's grasp. The MB is NOT. Another view: If you don't want to use the formerly heavily promoted Snowflake as the bottom of the barrel comparison for the Chevy's, since that would really be unfair and generally only the desperados buy the lowest trim level models, we'll use your favorite SW who's ass makes the posse melt for some reason and we'll "upgrade" the low end for the Chevy's and use Chevy's HIGHEST Trim Level prices (Lots of options on these cars and includes your beloved Stingray) while still using MB LOWEST Trim Level.
The MB average remains at $53,600 while the Chevy jumps to $47,875 due to the "Truck Heavy" weighting of Chevys. Still quite lower priced than the MB however and probably puts a lot of the average car buyer out of the running for either brand. Plus those costs don't even factor upkeep and real driving costs of even the cheapest MB. I can assure you that most people can NOT afford a MB.
Just because you "can" pay more for something, it isn't always smart to do so or necessarily worth full sticker price. I think it's more fair to say the SW (or any provider) was priced like a Mercedes but looked and probably rode and looked more like a Chevy. So why pay MB prices for a Chevy result? Not many people would do that.
Some people throw money away paying full sticker price, others know how to get more value for their dollars. In both instances, hopefully the buyers were happy with the end result. You just don't want a Chevy thinking that they are a Mercedes.

I will tell you what, been driving past this spot a lot around 9 pm-10 pm due to my natural commutation schedule. Some nights lately very talent filled. But that area screams LE risk. I don't know how guys mainstay over there. I can't imagine you could do 100 scoops without getting busted once or twice. It is just too damn out in the open there. I often see Uncle parked in nondescript spots watching it all.
Tampa monger here, I have been up to OBT three times in the last week to find some decent pussy. OBT has long been one of my favorite areas, but the last three trips have been abysmal. It used to be that I could head on up and find someone decent to fuck, might take awhile, but I usually always score.
It is not that I didn't see any girls, saw plenty, picked up plenty. None passed my screening. My requirements are simple, relatively young / cute / thin, all bare services, standard tuition. All the girls I picked up in the mall area insisted on covers. And quoted high prices to boot. Usually I expect to pay a bit more for BBFS, but I didn't even get to that point.
I didn't see any young / cute ones in the other areas. Plenty of older or worn out ones.
Not that Tampa is any better, virtually nothing on the street down here.
