Although a robbery could potentially occur in almost any area, that area isn't particularly dangerous, even at night. I've been in that neighborhood many times at night without any problems.

As indicated by Member #2322, if the women you saw were primarily non-Asian the place might have been Smile Spa, Mika, or Hula. However, as Member #2322 said, Hula isn't on a "back street" (it's on Keeaumoku, a wide and busy street). Mika is located close to the Femme Nu strip club, so that would have been a very short taxi ride. Smile Spa is located on a back street (Ilaniwai) in an area that can appear relatively desolate at night. Do you recall if the place was upstairs rather than on ground level? Smile Spa is located upstairs. (By the way, next time you might want to ask for a business card.)

I went to Nirvana Friday @ 11PM but there was a group of men hanging out on the parking lot so I went out to check out Lavender instead. I was in Hi a month ago, and had a scare with an accidental BB experience at Smile Spa.
