Well decided to take a drive and listen to the state of the Union on KYW1060. Streets were pretty much dead. Was going to make some calls but really wanted something new.

Well, I guess that's both ends of the controversy. On one side, you have someone who's "never been caught" advocating carrying a gun and telling the cop your friend was "cleaning it" (with his face I guess), which of course the police will accept unquestioningly. The success of this approach depends on luck in its entirety, and the potential stakes if that luck runs out are high.

On the other side, you have an overpriced lawyer advising you the gun's best left at home. True, they don't spend much time on this particular situation in law school, but in 20+ years of frequent and successful mongering on the Ave and elsewhere, I've NEVER had occasion to use a gun or any other weapon.

Applied to the situation which started this discussion, I'd suggest that shooting someone who mugged you and punched you in the face does not constitute legitimate self defense, and if caught you'll be prosecuted. If you watch network TV, I'm sure you realize that you no longer need witnesses to be caught. Food for thought if nothing else, but going out for pussy and coming back facing serious jail time sounds like a bad risk/benefit analysis to me.

I'm betting you managed to explain the black eyes to the girlfriend or wife satisfactorily, I think you'd have a harder time explaining away the local news coverage of your criminal rampage after you were caught in the act of patronizing a prostitute, especially if Greta Van Susterin starts laying out the ballistic and DNA evidence for her.

My first post here. I use to go on the ave a few yrs ago like 2002-2005 and there use to be alot of girls. I use to pick up 1 particualr girl a few blocks south of Lehigh in front of an old supermarket. When in town I have taken several to my hotel in Bensalem. Pretty much depending on traffic a 20-30 min drive from the K. Sometimes they bite sometimes they don't. I think it has to do a lot with the rapport with the gal, and what condition she is in or how long it has been since the last fix. IMHO usually money talks.
