Most hotels/motels ask for credit information. If you don't have a credit card they then ask for a drivers license in order to screen out convicted felons or wanted people (security precaution) along with a hefty deposit. If you're trying to mask your immoral activities then you won't have much luck just having cash in hand in order to reserve accomodations in las vegas. Too many unfavorables come to las vegas such as drug dealing weekenders and pimps with criminal records which require hotels/motels to initiate a pro-active search should you have a criminal history. Now, this is not a hard a fast rule, but should law enforcement have reason to investigate you, they can legally supoena (sp?) records of your visit to Las Vegas including any accomodations you have booked via some form of indentity.

If you're just an honest citizen, the reservation at the Circus Circus or Barbary Coast hardly constitutes as a "no tell motel". As far as whether security would bother you about who you brought up to your room, thats an iffy type of question. Unless they knew the person you were bringing up as a known SW,CW etc that has caused problems in the past then they might take notice.

Now if you were to reserve a room at the Oasis motel, then you would be suspect to whoever is aware of the infamous motel!

By they way, you don't need a credit card to rent a vehicle. They just ask for a big deposit if you don't have a credit card.

By law all local lodging establishments are required to check a gov't issued ID for all guests, and all registration records are available immediately for inspection by law enforcement all the time, no exceptions, no form of formal request or reason is needed, and no delay tolerated. Any hotel, motel, or other lodging establishment which does not comply WILL be shut down. LE sees everything in the registration records any time they wish, and they do wish very often, so don't come to Vegas if you have a felony warrant. "Hiding out" from the law in Vegas is just about the dumbest thing anyone could possibly think of, but of course there's no shortage of criminals stupid enough to think it's a good idea and dozens more such morons arrive every day, and they get busted if the state issuing the warrant is willing to bother with the expense of extradition. They aren't checking up on your morality, just your criminal record. If you don't have one, don't sweat it. Many other cities and states 'round the world have similar laws.

I have the impression that the original poster was mostly concerned about the paper trail on the credit card getting back to the wife or girlfriend or whatever, and not wanting to explain about sweating up the sheets in the "XXX Love Shack" with Bambi to the little woman at home, or some such. Even most of the inexpensive tourist hotels want an authorization on a valid credit card for financial reasons, to recover their costs if you use the bed as an ashtray, play soccer with the TV with the window as your goalpost, steal the sheets, and run up a tab for booze and munchies. It also screens out people who a casino isn't interested in wasting a rooom on. For example, this is from the registration web page for the El Cortez, an inexpensive downtown joint: "GUESTS CHECKING IN MUST PRESENT A VALID CREDIT CARD." The all caps emphasis is theirs. They do mean must. I've been stuck in line behind little old ladies arguing with the desk staff when they weren't allowed to check-in becuase they didn't have any such card. Some places may allow you to fork over a sack of cash as a deposit in lieu of a card but many won't. I think the no-tell is more understanding of this problem of not wanting to introduce the girlfriend to the wife via a credit card bill, but I'd check ahead directly with them to be sure if I had that situation.

An authorization is not the same thing as putting through any charges to the card of course, but some of these deposits are put through as hard charges and reversed sometime after check out by the back office staff if nothing is owed on the folio, some make a token hard charge ($1 at the Plaza) just to verify the card, some just take an imprint and never run the card if they don't need to, and others just put an authorization "hold" on it without any charges if you are careful to take care of everything in cash. If this is important to someone, best talk to the individual hotel in detail in advance to be sure, and don't generalize from any of our individual experiences at individual hotels, becuase it varies from property to property and changes are made to a particular property's procedures from time to time.

Well their gaming, particularly BJ sucks huge hairy ones. I stayed there because I got a average room rate of $62 a night last January over a 5 day period including weekends. My gaming mostly consisted of playing poker at the easily accessible Mirage poker room starting around 10pm. Usually by 1 or 2 am the mid limit holdem games($6-12 LHE and $10-20 LHE) games would break and I would drop down to $3-6 and get smashed on free drinks. Most of the time, I would carry on into near noon, stumble across LV Bl., pick up a quick burrito at Chipotle, head up to my room at Harrahs, scarf down the burrito, sleep from noon to 4pm, get up, expel said burrito by various means, pass out again, rinse, wash, repeat.

I can't figure out any reason to gamble at Harrahs.

Midori (the Raiders fan) works in the NW area, according to her email to me. Lilly (The thick-azz Jap) can be found by the airport area and/or Southern Highlands but has some strange incall hours; she's mainly outcall and Rose I know nothing about.

Midori does no [i]full[/i] service but I've seen one or two reviews of the "OK" variety. Only thing I've ever heard about Lilly is that she's thicker than one would expect.

I've tried none of them. Midori too far - Lilly too hard with incall hours for me.

Wastrel, as usual, hit it right on the head. When LE asks, you tell. If you need time for a record search, they'll be back. They'll come in and say something tricky like "Do you have any history on a Wastrel D. Monger?". From there, they expect and I mean that in legal terms, a definitive answer complete with dates, check-in info, number of guests, and anything else available that they may want.

If the guest has a history with security, they can have the guest record flagged for future reference or just a plain old "Go away" red flag.

Using a C/C at check-in but paying cash at check-out is common. Some people trash the room, split and leave the keys in the room; hoping to pull a fast one. They'll find some incidentals charged to their card in the near future. But if you're just an average Joe, you won't have any charges made other than maybe locking up some of your credit line.

You might want to consider using "2 guests" if you plan on having a friend overnite. They can, technically, have your overnite guest leave for not being a "registered guest" which just amounts to them being accounted for in a head count kind of way - not a "who is she" kind of way. But that's my "inside" opinion and view from a pre-2003 world. A POV from a monger's current position I can't say.

The rate was via expedia. My total cost for 4 nights plus tax plus expedias fee was under 300.

As you probably know, hotel rates fluctuate like nuts. Every day, prices can change. For instance for Jan 17th-20th expedia had a average rate of $111 for MGM for a few days, then down to $104. Then, about the 10th, the rate jumped up to $180 and did not change.

When I visit, the less I spend on a room, the more I get to spend on gambling.

So I always search expedia, travelocity, vegas.com, i4vegas, bookvegas, hoteldiscounts, travelaxe, and each hotels web site. If I find a knockout rate, I book. If I can't get something mid strip under $100 a night, I stay downtown. The better rates I've stumbled across were $18 a night at Orleans, $72 a night over a five day period including weekends at Luxor, $19 a night at Stratosphere, $39 weeknight at Harrahs, and $34 on a Sunday at NYNY.

It's always wise when using a Credit Card to assume some charges may end up on the card after all the employees could care less about what you may or may not want and can be very careless, not to mention some Hotels "lock Up" your line for a certain amount till you check to be sure they get paid.
Some Hotels will register you as NRG, Or Not Registered Guest, if anyone calls for you there you never show up not sure if they reserve that for the Players or everyone but if discretion is required it's worth a try.

The Stardust has a midweek room special at $49 through March 3rd (enter the word "WINTER" as a rate code online) and I'm a little tempted to take them up on it to spend a night there thrashing around on a bed with someone or other just once before they turn it into a hole in the ground and send the sign to the museum, but I looked at the traveller's comments on tripadvisor.com and the most recent reviewer mentions that they have security at the elevators actually having people scan their key cards before going upstairs. I'm not sure I believe that, since I've never seen that done anywhere in town, ever. Asking to SEE a key card as you walk by, yes, at some places, and that's never been a problem with a companion on my arm, just as described by Speck below, but to actually scan it for anyone getting on the elevator? That'd be very unusual, to put it mildly, and I'm thinking that reviewer mispoke or was confused somehow. Does anyone here have any personal experience as a guest at this hotel? I'd be a little disappointed to go to the trouble to take a room only to discover that I can only use it for sleeping and pilfering a souvenier ashtray.

Agreed. I've never seen that practice before even at the really high-end places. I've come across a couple of places that want to see more than just a room card, like documentation that shows you're actually a guest of the hotel right now. That's a pretty comparable level of security to scanning the card. Although my mongering instincts are in conflict here, I actually kind of like the fact that some casino hotels are trying to go the extra step and provide greater assurance of their guests' security by doing something like scanning the card or requiring other proof of current guest status. I always thought the room key waving exercise was pretty weak. Overall (and granted I guess we still don't know if the Stardust anecdote is even correct) I'll give the heightened security check a mild thumbs up. Of course if the trend gains popularity, maybe it'll soon be time to ditch my extensive collection of room keys saved for just these kinds of situations where I'm bringing a CG/SW up to the room.

Wonder if some event triggered this move.[/QUOTE]I don't know about that specific property at that particular time, but sometimes the event that triggers this for a while is simply a large convention that causes a problem with people from a neighboring property poaching on the parking to such an extent that registered guests can't get in. I know that in some cases it's even the employees that contribute to the problem when they don't want to use the more remote surface lot like they're supposed to at some properties.

I have mixed feelings about the whole business too, depending on whether I want to sleep well at night or am looking to do the opposite. Comes down to using good judgement I think. Besides the everyday mundane misbehavior and some criminal stuff that's bound to happen to some extent in a 5,000 room 24 hr casino/resort, I'd like to believe that Akmed Al'Kaboom would have a few questions to answer when pulling in with a Ryder truck full of fertilizer, as I'd take it personally if someone imploded any part of the town ahead of schedule and incinerated some of my neighbors in the process.

Wierd to think that we could be a target of these wackos but taking out a big Vegas hotel would look good for the terror freaks both international and our own home breed wackos the religious right is just as likely to pull something off in there deranged minds Sin City is a target. Hopefully and thankfully Vegas is well aware that they can not afford any kind of attack, tourism is such a huge part of Vegas any succesful attack would hurt Vegas for years. I feel safe everytime I am in Vegas, I thank my monger skills for knowing which part's off town are seedy, which in turn keeps me out of trouble. Only a true local knows every street and which to avoid I am thankful for all the advice everyone gives, I do have a question about the new residential mix properties going up closer to the stratosphere end of the strip I would assume LE activity is picking up there to clean up the area, might not be the case but just checking.

Its been like that for at least a few years. They have a small parking lot and only let registered guests park there. Seems kinda odd and contrary to standard business practices really. I find the best thing to do in that area of the strip is to park at any of the following:

Valet

Imperial Palace - smallish casino and really easy to cross through the casino out to the strip.

Mirage - Long ass walk from the parking lot to the other end of the casino, but super easy access to the strip by passing the poker room, cpk, and the tiger display. Very safe parking lot

Bellagio - They will check your trunk. Parking is VERY close to the casino. Lots of eye candy and very safe. Easy to access the strip by walking across the casino and using the bridges. Once you get to the bridges, its a 10 minute walk to Mirage and vice versa.

One lot to be avoided is Venetian. That place is freaking humongous and it will take you forever just to get from your parking spot to the strip.

Used the Craigslist to find a provider. Got the price to .2k with ease. How ever - had not seen her face.

When I opened my hotel door - behold: an ebony gem! She was an absoute 9. Nice firm rack and killer RE. We laughed and fooled around with her stripping. Gave me the best CBJTC to this date. Did RCG and DS. Very nice.

So - paying more than .2k in this city is not neccessary. And roaming for overpriced CG seems futile.

Huge story on Fox 13 News about InCall Apts around town. They call it "Girls Next Door" or something or another. Hidden spy cameras and all. Talk about having a heart attack seeing yourself spotlighted on the news coming out of an inconspicuous wh_re house in town. They showcased one of the more popular spots a lot of us are familiar with -- it's no wonder they suddenly moved locations recently.

The reporter said they are going to start investigating more thoroughly to see if any of these places are linked to organized crime and such. You can expect more and more (LE affiliated) stings in weeks to come I assume. I would lay low for a while if I were you.

This has been popping up in cities around the country. I think this little public relations puff piece in the local lefty rag City Life last week gives some unintentional insight into why and how this is getting attention, both here and elsewhere. Some "progressive-feminist" activist groups and publicly funded "victim advocate" professionals are latching on to incall services and characterizing this as an issue of "slavery" and "violence against women." Whether there actually is some of that involved, I really wouldn't know, since I don't know much about the workings of the incall business, but I do know the origin of the money and the spin used in this approach comes from Clinton's "Violence against Women Act" which began the flow of a boatload of money to publicly subsidize positions for hundreds of highly paid "victim advocates" around the country recruited from feminist pressure groups and the chronically underemployed from college sociology and women's studies departments, who now have a lot of time on their hands seeking to find "exploited victims" to be "helped" by them to keep the gravy train of money flowing to those whose profession is to be permanently outraged in public.

[I][B]COALITION TACKLES HUMAN TRAFFICKING[/b]

Do you ever wonder if any of those government-sponsored announcements and initiatives make a difference? When it comes to the problem of human trafficking in Nevada, there's some good news.

Since the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last February that Las Vegas is one of 17 cities suspected of being a hotbed for modern slavery, coalitions formed, grant money flowed and agencies have scrambled to attack the problem. For instance, during the 2005 session the state Legislature passed Senate Bill 456, which places stricter penalties on the existing involuntary servitude law, essentially criminalizing human trafficking.

"It's great that there's a law criminalizing it, but as a victim's advocate, I think the piece that would offer protection to victims is missing," says Namju Cho, communications and policy director for the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST) of Los Angeles.

CAST was one of many organizations represented at the Nevada Coalition Against Sexual Violence's fifth annual conference. The 7-year-old state coalition offers training opportunities for people in jobs who meet victims of sexual violence, like police, attorneys, doctors, community organization members and others.

Human trafficking was a major focus of this year's conference in which Cho, accompanied by survivor Flor (who asked to only use her first name out of fear of retribution), made presentations during several sessions of the three-day event from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1.

"It is an emerging issue in Nevada," says Terri Miller, a coalition training services coordinator who planned this year's conference. "We want to make sure that these issues are being taken seriously."

Miller says Cho and her colleagues at CAST have played an important part in educating Nevada government agencies, law enforcement and community groups who may come in contact with victims. This year was the fourth time CAST had participated in the conference, which usually draws around 90 participants. (In fact, one such participant this year was state Sen. [and Democratic gubernatorial candidate] Dina Titus.)

Miller has also represented Nevada on the national level. She was present at the White House on Jan. 9 when President Bush signed the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005, which allocates $361 million for the next two years for programs fighting human trafficking.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, trafficking victims are involuntarily exploited for profit. It is not the same as immigrant smuggling. Victims are found in nearly all service industries around the world including construction, prostitution, manufacturing, restaurant and domestic labor industries. Las Vegas' sudden trafficking boom is tied to its population growth, tourism and entertainment industries. Locally, the most common forms of trafficking are for prostitution (many victims are younger than 18 and moved in brothel rings from state to state) and construction work.

Cho says the sexual violence coalition's work is a good sign for Nevada, but more needs to be done. Through CAST, Cho helped write California's new human trafficking law and she hopes it will serve as a model for other states, including Nevada. And if one of her conversations with a local law enforcement officer is any indication, Nevada legislators will be adding more provisions to protect victims in the next session.

"There's always those issues of how we enforce it," Cho says. "We need to collect better data. We need to find them [the victims] because they're invisible."[/i]

I was wondering if maybe Wastrel, Vanderley, Muggs, or Speck, all being Senior members, would have any info for the North Las Vegas area?

I'll be staying out there in march at the Barcelona. I'm in town for the NASCAR race, and I figured I would stay closer to the track.

Now, I already know the Barcelona is a s***hole, but I figured maybe there would be some "trailer trash" staying there looking to make a few extra bucks to buy her favorite "Dale Jr." t-shirt.

Way back in '97 I picked up this doped up crack w***e at (brace yourselves) the Clubhouse Tavern. She needed a place to stay for the nite and in return I got to do things with/ to her that would make a porn star blush!

Anyway, just wondering if you guys had any input??

Don't worry, I'm coming back out in april and I already have my reservations for HOOTERS. I'm going to try and get a "bridge girl" or a CW to come back to the room and put on a HOOTERS girl outfit while we go at it!!

I'll update you guys on that in late april!

I like that sleazy joint, even if I'm not sure exactly why. I was meaning to post something about it, especially after I scored a twofer with a pair of (sort of) non-pro sisters there last year who were recent arrivals in town running low on rent and gambling money. I guess the accommodations can't be all that sleazy, since the sign on the hotel says it's AAA approved, right?

There is still SW activity on Craig Road and Nellis Blvd near there, but it is sporadic and undependable. Ladies working the streets are mostly BSWs from the trashy blocks of apartments in walking distance. The patrons inside the Barcelona tend to be a mixed crowd white/black. Wonder how the residents of the nearby ghetto type housing projects who go to drink and play the slots while listening to the band that does covers of old Motown tunes several nights a week will mix with the NASCAR groupies?

Later you can let me know about the food in the little diner in the casino. Looks like it might be a spot to get some cheap slop while out chasing hookers late at night, but I haven't gotten around to trying it.

During the more boring moments of the SuperBowl, about ten of us made plans to visit Atlantic City, instead of Vegas, because there is "NO SW ACTION". If the police are as HOT on clearing out Vegas SW traffic, then we will drop our gambling money in Atlantic City.

We all check this Board, and thus made plans for A 5 day gambling trip, and as of A few days ago, the plans are paid for and we are going. If the Casino Owners would realize that Vegas is "SIN CITY" NOT Family take your kids to City.

PUT the SW action in a "RED LIGHT" area, and I would be taking 2-3 trips a years to Vegas for Gambling, SW Action, the Buffets, and just being in the Fast Pace Action of Vegas. How MUCH MORE MONEY, is LOST because other than Gambling, there is NO SIn in Sin City.

The BUNNY RANCHES are just far too Expensive.

DON'T THE CASINO OWNERS GET IT !!!! SEX MAKES MONEY DIRECTLY or INDIRECTLY.

WTF are you talking about? Have you EVER stayed at a decent hotel on the strip?

High end "casino girls" at Ceasars, Bellagio, etc. Expensive, but still cheaper than the ranches.

Lower end girls working at Luxor, MGM, Flamingo, etc. Walk by Flamingo at 3am on a weekend. Anything you want for $200 fs.

If you wanted a bargain, forget about it.

If you want a cg at Orleans or some other similiar off strip casino, forget about it.

If you want a cg at the current hot spot, ie Palms or Hard Rock forget about it. CG's have no desire to complete with normal women just as hot, and no desire to pork some 21 year old who already overstretched their budget by staying at a hotel they can't afford.

There is no "red zone" in Vegas because it is not necessary.

A 'Bridge girl", lol that cracked me up. There weren't that many bridges when I was there last in 95'; just mainly down by the Tropicana/MGM/Across the street. But, they have done 'some building since then ;)

[/QUOTE]If I take WordUp's choice of acronym at face value ("SWs"), I agree with him. I visit Vegas a lot and am in AC almost every week. I come to Vegas for the gambling not the SWs. I love Vegas but AC street action is MUCH better than LV. No comparison. I agree that if you're looking to spend $$ and up, there's plenty of good stuff available but street action - disappointingly spotty at best. I do agree that the ranches are a joke however.

Stayed for a couple of days on the south side of the strip, mostly gambling. Having made some money playing Craps and poker, i decided to sample the local scene.

While walking through the pyramid, i was approached by Bridgette, a striking tall redhead. We went back to the casino I was staying at and agreed on $ for BJ. it was nicely done, and then she was gone, gotta love it. (she had wanted $$$ for fs, and i would have said yes to $$).

While travelling back through the pyramid on my way to the castle, I was approached by 2 more CG, wanting $$$ for one or $$$$$ for both of them. having just finished wth bridgette less than a half-hour before, I wasn't eager, but these two were hot. One was named Mercades, I can't remember the other. they had a rather intruiging idea when I tried to tell them that i didn't have a room, get a limo .7$ for the limo for the hour, and 5$ for the both of them. I declined but that was the first time i've heard of this.
