One stop shopping at its finest. Ticas (Costa Ricans of all shades) , Nicas (Nicaraugans) , Panamanians, Colombianas and even a few Dominicans. I have looked into going to DR but I can't find any reason to go there vs CR.

I have been looking into Medellin but would definetly need to brush up on my Spanish and would needed a trusted veteran wingman for that excursion.

IMHO there are better quality places to monger on this globe than CR but when I add in the cost, convenience and comfort level CR is unbeatable for the following reasons:

1) I can catch an AM flight from ORD for around $300 and be in CR for lunch (6 hours travel time)

2) My spanish is at about a Taco Bell menu level, most people in CR speak at least some English.

3) Great chica friendly hotel with Kitchenette and breakfast included for $50 a night.

4) I am a sucker for latinas

John[/QUOTE]Satin Dolls has been there for years. The doll herself is probably in her mid to late 70's now. She was a dancer a lifetime ago and saved her money and opened her place. I haven't been there in probably ten years but she usually opened at around 10pm and stayed open until about 6am. It was frequented by a lot of higher ups in the PD and city officials and never had to worry about closing at 2am. You drive in the alley into her parking lot and come to the back door and ring the bell. She has a camera and if she knows you you'll get let in. She was not bashful on her drink prices either and that place was a melting pot of different walks of life. Most customers were white but dancers and other bar people would gather there after closing time. That's how it did work but like I said I haven't been there for at least 10 years.
