We all know him by now, he reacts to governance and responsibility the same way I do if my wife caught me cheating. Deny and lie as long as possible (his quote below).

During a Feb. 28, 2020, campaign rally in South Carolina, President Donald Trump likened the Democrats' criticism of his administration's response to the new coronavirus outbreak to their efforts to impeach him, saying "this is their new hoax." During the speech he also seemed to downplay the severity of the outbreak, comparing it to the common flu.

Never mind whether or not the president lied (about this) for the moment. I said: "Our esteemed presidential press secretary", I did not refer to the president in my post. I was referring to undoctored footage I had seen myself.

I also did not claim that the Chinese had it "under control. " I said that they had lied about it, and pointed out that high level officials in our government had done the same.

I did have a typo in my post. I meant CPAC, not APAC.

I haven't logged into Facebook for years, and I vet my information sources against reality. I read deep and I read wide. You claiming that "people like me" are propagating misinformation is a broad and incorrect assertion.

It's well documented that racial prejudice results in significantly worse healthcare outcomes for people with otherwise equivalent health backgrounds. People of asian descent (regardless of whether or not they are ethnically or nationally Chinese) are getting some shitty treatment these days in Europe and the United States, encouraged by the use of language that denigrates them. I know this for a fact, from friends of mine that are asian (but not, actually, Chinese).

Regardless of how shitty a job the Chinese government did handling the virus, or how much they lied about it, blaming the Chinese, as a people, is laughably ignorant. I'm a proud American, and I love my country, but when I go abroad, do I blindly support every action my government has taken? Fuck no.

I'm not interested in a broad political argument on the internet, and if I were, I wouldn't pick this as a venue.

If people are going to kill people, this isn't going to be the trigger.

I stand by what I said about the Chinese government that they need to own this. I do business with factories in China and this is how fucked up the government is. They know communism doesn't work so they basically have "special economic zones" within the country where most of the factories are located otherwise they wouldn't have a dime to support their ideology. Weird huh.

We'll have to disagree, then, on whether or not intentional marginalization and association with broad negatives can be incredibly harmful to a group's health. I do say science is on my side on this, though. I wasn't suggesting that it was likely that someone was going to go all Columbine in Chinatown (god forbid), but a gun ain't the only way to kill someone.

I agree that the Chinese government bears responsibility for making the problem worse. How the Chinese putative political system factors into their overall economic policy is more of an issue than I would want to try to tease apart here, but doesn't seem relevant to asian people in this country getting shit on.

The real name fits the reality, and I don't mean convic whatever. What most miss is that African viruses is the most dangerous and has infected us more than this most recent hoax. He was going after the Democrats for politicizing the virus and they were saying that isn't the case.
