You can get a phone number of your choice, get voice messaging and texts, forward it to any and all phones you have, have everything go to voice mail and change the number whenever you want. You can even block numbers. It is all free. I use it for all mongering with the safety of knowing that I can always dump the number if someone abuses it. You can load the app onto any smartphone and it will give the option of dialing any number using your Google Voice number even though you make the call on your smartphone.

When you read a report like the one I responded to couple days ago in this thread (and yes most of us do know you're reading these posts) , this is the one you should go in undercover and at the very least get two thugs off the streets. Gun charges carry a heavier fine than solicitation I'd imagine.

Any of that traffic can be tracked, traced and recorded. The throw away monger phones, if you use cash, and don't give any info to them can't be tracked back to you.

The monger's biggest risk to himself is what he has on him if detained. A throwaway phone is VERY suspicious and easy to backtrack once in hand. Your own phone with something like Google Voice with a password protect will only cause you a problem if LE gets a court order to unlock your phone.

It is very important that you password lock your phone whenever dealing with LE. In many states they can view and even download the contents of your phone. Password protection requires them to get a court order, which is an inconvenience to them and tough to get unless they can show a need to get the information.

Don't matter what phone you use. If you call and then show up to a sting. Will not matter that you have a toss away phone. But if you are married and don't want to hide another phone well then this app is good for you. I use it just for that reason. I can remove the app and wife knows nothing. Just because you have a call history to someone, does not make you guilty. (however if the lady was missing or killed then yes your number will be used to find out more info on that.) Its a balance between keeping some distance and also keeping it easy. Humans will always keep it easy for the most part A few good examples. DNS it is easier to remember yahoo. Com or 34. 54. 234. 78? How many DIFFERENT passwords do you use? On average people use 3 to 4. Sure its the best way to have you covered in all angles, but it also requires an aditional phone, and money. And yes you can have a different password for everything, but most people will not.
