I didn't have a whole lot of luck trying to negotiate especially prior to meeting, but it is possible others have more success in that. I'm pretty open minded when it comes to age and body type, so it wasn't like I was talking to women who look like models. In fact, I usually tend to avoid a lot of those that are likely to come with GPS and sky high asks. But at these prices I could take a plane somewhere else, book a hotel room, find someone better looking than Portland offerings and still come out ahead. If I want my time wasted again in Portland, I'll just go back to Bumble.

I did, however, attempt to go after a few women new to SA in Portland, and those still have a little potential. I wasn't able to close the deal on any, but a lot of them seem to get scared off the site pretty quick while testing the waters. Super flaky but others might have a better approach in trying to woo these type of women. But, I'd probably only resubscribe if wanting to expand my potential contacts while traveling or saw a few new women I was incredibly interested in contacting in Portland.[/QUOTE]Well said. I have used SA for about 4-5 years in nearly every corner of the country. PDX is clearly the most difficult market. The GPS here is real. Doesn't mean YMMV, but it's all about the work. Portlands odds are tough.

Okay. But if you're commoditizing yourself expect corrections when you're out of line with the "market". There are an alarming number of women who literally DEMAND premium pricing. Though I hate to be crude, if what I see doesn't hold the same value as what I see elsewhere, you're self-valuation needs to be reexamined. I'm not giving the same amount to some chubby 40-something with 3 kids as a 19 year old with an incredible body.

Perhaps the issue is women can't see the profiles of other women so it's an echo chamber for them. Also, let's be real, some of you guys don't challenge what they ask and if they get it once they'll expect it every time.

That way the only people who you'll be in contact with are the ones where you send a message first The potential downside of this is that local women (in addition to the out of country ones) wouldn't be able to initiate and send you a message. But if you only want to talk to ones where you start the convo, this will work.
