There is a lot more to than your few minutes of internet searchs.
I will say it again. Read the f at #$ing threads. Read the forums. Read dozens upon dozens of pages of posts here to get a feel for this fun, but dangerous hobby. Reading some ads, some reverse photo and phone searches isn't enough. I've been at this on and off for over 40 years and while we have more info today, it's probably less safe than back then.
Based on what you've written, you're liable to get taken, hopefully the worst would be for a few bucks.

For me, the problem with paying a deposit even with well-reviewed, higher-end providers is that sometimes something comes up and I have to cancel, and I won't get my money back. Also, in my experience, there are plenty of high-end providers who don't ask for a deposit, or sometimes only for outcall. For example, I've never been asked for a deposit to see any of the hot Brazilian touring girls. As for screening, you will virtually always have to give up some personal info with higher-end providers. Often, just giving them a LinkedIn link will do the trick. I'm okay with doing that; after all, it's a public profile and anyone who wants to look at it can look at it, and anyone who wants to falsely accuse me of something after looking at my LinkedIn can do that.
