You need to find what works best for your particular situation. Some of us are limited in our knowledge and ability to keep up with the advances in technology, and consequently are still typing text messages on a flip phone. I was recently forced to give mine up. I have tried several techniques. Burner phone for me led to near disaster. You know, forgot to turn it off. Am driving around with a significant other. Phone rings. Questions start. The holy fuck begins. It is like walking away from your laptop while leaving a questionable web site open. Shit for all of us will eventually happen. For me, I use my regular android. It is finger print and password protected. Phone locks after 10 seconds of inactivity. All volumes are turned down very low and vibrate on. Providers names and numbers are encrypted. Oh yeah, for Christ's sake do not allow your phone to display incoming messages on your locked screen. Will never forget that special ring tone going off and a message popping up saying "hey sweetie, am running a two girl special right now just for you."
