DOJ played a part but pandemic was probably major blow.
I don't hobby nearly as much as I used to. If I get a BBBJ every few months that is a lot. I do however try to keep an eye out on the talent and this is probably the lowest it has been with regards to quality. I can tolerate and appreciate cleaning up SW's because that ultimately is an unsafe practice, and cleaning up the trafficking that happens throughout the hobby, but what is now left is pitiful!
We have all commented about what killed the hobby in NY and there is some truth to it all but wow the current state of providers in this city makes me happy to not spend my $$.
Craiglist personals, Backpage, and Cityxguide getting shut down did kinda deal blows. But this pandemic was a real big blow. Possibly the biggest of all. Scared off a lot of newbies who would rejuvenate the hobby every couple of weeks as well as many other providers. Since now it a risk. They fuck one person, catch covid, and then end up spreading it to their friends and family. Some people stopped dating all together let alone escorting / seeing providers. Now majority of what is left is scammers and the career escorts who be jaded.
This hobby is on the ropes. If Universal Basic Income happens that could be the knock out punch. A lot of women quit escorting already when that $600 a week unemployment boost happened. We get UBI might not be many sex workers left. Kinda crazy we in a depression/recession type situation and it didn't lead to an influx of providers. Makes me wonder where all the women went and how they making money with the high unemployment and the 600 boost ending.
