It's better than it looks and great for quick stays. Staff is totally cool. Debit cards accepted. Maybe a small deposit required. If you ask at the desk you can get 2 hours for $.5 . At least they used to do that. The regular rate is $1.1... I used to pay cash for the quick stays and I believe they take cash for any stay.
Or ask rodeway on Olympic near DTLA. New owners that would probably agree to anything. Very laid back

But when you get there just ask to see the room first as some are better than others. Don't just take the first one they give you if you don't like it. Although at Casa Bella if you do the short stay its going to be one of the smaller rooms across from the office (there won't be a choice).
Also at Casa Bella they will let you reserve a room with no credit card but not at rodeway. If you are just gonna pull up and do it right then and there, CB gets full on the weekends as it is very small and a known no-tel. Rodeway is much bigger but they do sell out as well. Check for any major events like sports or concerts or conventions as they always fill up at these times.
