I learned the hard way that good service isn't cheap and cheap service isn't good. You get what you pay for. But-because of personal obligations at home and IRL, I am unable to. My parents raised me to believe that a man is defined by whether or not he takes care of his personal responsibilities at home and that they must always be his first priority. My parents have been gone for many years, but in this regard I still honor what they taught me.

So-to save money- when the urge hits, I broaden my horizons by seeking out non-pros that don't require a donation. The old fashioned ways (before the internet) to find dates are still the best. It has worked out fairly well for me to the point that I only call pros every once in a while. Unfortunately, they are still a necessary when I strike out elsewhere.

Switching things up from pros to civilians for variety keeps things fun. Not focusing entirely on pros and avoiding their drama, issues, problems, etc keeps things safe.

1) Give up mongering altogether and stick to whatever you have at home, if you are that fortunate. Not all of us are.

2) Grudgingly pay the higher price under grumbling protest, kicking and screaming the whole way. I promise you that if you feel forced to come out of your pocket with more than you want to spend, you won't enjoy it. You'll feel extorted and your date will NOT be fun. So what's the point if you don't enjoy it?

3) Broaden your horizons. Find other options besides the pros who charge above your desired price range. As Hobbyist1 says, more power to those who can pay more. Those who choose not to must be able to fulfill their longings in other ways. Everyday situations IRL (work, school, community/neighborhood activities, etc) might provide opportunities for dates that some tend to overlook or ignore completely because they are so focused on the convenience of the internet. Which, IMHO, has proven to be as much a curse as it is a blessing!
