#1) I have a pretty close friend who has a business up on the hilltop. He said there have been a minimum of two shootings per week within a two block radius of his business since May. He has the police at his business quite often. Not for crimes, but just to "kick it". Further, he said that the information he gets from them in general conversation is that they have specific instructions from Coleman to get the violence under control. Why am I bringing this up here? Because one tactic they're going to be using is to closely watch the SW's. They're going to watch what houses they go to hoping to crack down (no pun intended) on dealers who likely have guns in the house, etc. They're going to try to get as many girls off the street as possible so they can't buy drugs in an attempt to lower sales rates. Reducing the demand and forcing dealers out of business. Etc. But much effort will be concentrated in two specific areas. Gangs and SW's. According to him they're starting on Broad/Sullivant in the Hilltop area.

Moral of the story. Watch yourselves even more closely normal if you're going for SW's on the hill.

#2) I have lost my lease and need to move to a motel somewhere for a couple of minutes. There are quite a few with weekly rates many of which are used by the SW's (the former Buckeye, for example). Anyone have any suggestions which are some of the nicer "cheapies"? Am not too terribly worried about which area of town, but hopefully it won't be in the absolute worst areas. The ones I've already excluded for various reasons INCLUDING too much criminal activity are: Knight's inn on W Broad, 40 on W Broad and New Rome on W Broad. Don't know much about the Inn Towne there on W Broad know nothing about the East and North end motels at all! Suggestions?

They also had an article about a door to door (not literally) collaboration effort between the local state and Federal LE in the Hilltop area where they were questioning and asking for tips about unsolved violent crimes on the Hilltop. This included visiting with known offenders that may be suspects, people on probation and regular citizens that may have witnessed crimes in the Hilltop area. They also made several arrests that day on existing Warants. Your advise to be careful in the Hilltop area on this thread is well taken! I think I may begin another more alarming post about how much longer picking up a SW'er may be safe if at all in the General Discussion thread. The intent to is to get opinion from Senoirs and what you think. Stay tuned and please comment!
