I've never heard of anyone saying they got denied because they took a cab, or the equivalent. And I've been reading this forum for a few years now. This town is built on tourists who don't have a ride. I bet every cab driver knows the usual spots if they've been driving for a year or more. HS probably just really wants to score an extra 80 out of you. If you pass their screening, and show up at their door with $300, and they say no because you took an Uber, they'd probably loose the majority of their clients Locals aren't their main stream of revenue.

I imagine a metered taxi would be as much or more with tip. Uber / Lyft would most likely be less. My experiences with HSLV have been some of the best I've had in town and others here think highly of their girls. Only you know if saving $30 is that important.

Then I got a speeding ticket for doing all of 7 mph over the limit. Can't remember the fine, probably $150. Then the casinos started charging for parking. Then Uber became popular and made the fares cheaper.

If I'm doing lots of driving away from the strip or downtown renting car is a good option. Especially for a visit to Pahrump. Short jaunts it's more hassle than it's worth unless you are doing lots of back and forth.
