It is not my intent to question the justice system in her case. And I certainly believe in all I read that, if she had taken it to trial she may very well have won a "self defense" argument. That said, it would have take a couple years to bring to trial and, as it was, she spent minimum time in jail.
Also, I do not want to minimize the plight of abused women in our society. I have a very soft spot for all ladies in this situation. Please accept my apology as I believe we have a misunderstanding going here and that should not be.
As for being judged by a jury of my peers, I think I might pick a trial by judge. After all, I am just an old horse thief and I would not want a jury of 12 horse thieves deciding my fate.
