Haiku used to have a girl called Ivy. About the cutest asian MT I have ever seen and she had an absolutely fantastic technique. She was so good that it made the high prive quite easy to ignore. I think I reported this positively to the board at the time, as did at least one other member.
Sadly those days are gone and the experience reported below is all you can probably expect at Haiku.

I understand this is a big kink for some guys. To "turn" a massage therapist. I get it. I just can't support it.
A massage joint that advertises on CL and is open "late" should provide expected service. Not eventually. They need to provide expected service to reasonably hip customers first time.
Any place that doesn't is ripping off customers. I am not disappointed when legit massage therapists don't provide extra. They make it very clear what there business is. When places like Sunkiss talk the talk but don't walk the walk they should not be patronized. All you do by returning is encourage them to continue ripping off people.

Years ago I knew a provider that would do a manacure after the massage. No extra charge and not a real service that was offered. I think it was one of those times that a provider wants to really impress you in hopes that you will become closer to them.
Well I did appreciate the service and would ask for her again during visits but that's it.

Interesting conversation at New Life. Went in Sat and met by two Russians, a short bond and tall brunet. The brunet (Alex) started with covered TS and asked if I had been there before. I said a few months ago and that an Asian girl helped me out but I couldn't remember her name. Alex was a bit surprised and informed me all the Asians had been fired for "doing some things they weren't supposed to. Um, illegal stuff". She didn't say 'extras' but made it clear that Russian girls don't do that. We made friendly small talk after that.
Otherwise, very good massage with minimal covering and a hint of teasing, but I didn't try anything after that conversation.
I want to thank those who were kind enough to give me the location of Elegant. CiCi was there but wouldn't see me, I think because she didn't know me. She insisted I go with Sophia. Tried them a few days ago. One therapist, Katie (Cathy... whatever). Pretty tall for an Asian, she provided a decent TS and better than average massage. On the flip, minimal negotiations and standard reward for a decent, if unspectacular HE.
Might go again, but the location really is far too busy with all the hipsters.

Went to Rose Spa the other day moreso looking for just a decent massage. It has never failed that I can get in with 10 minutes notice at this place. Ended up getting Helen. She is fairly young, cute and had a nice little body on her. Massage was probably an 8/10. Paid. 45 for the half hour. No mention of anything else nor did her hands roam at all during the massage. Well, repeat patronage does pay off. After 4 visits over a stretch of time, (bit by the economy) I finally got FS from my hot spinner at Pulaski and Irving. It was well worth the wait and effort. Will give further info via PM. She does not want me to mention her name on this forum.

Maybe you could help us out by telling us what you found. At Xindy, what service did you get? Did they use oil for your back rub? Too much or just right? How much did you pay? It is nice to know the names of the folks who work there, but it is better still if you have been there a few times to know about the quality of the service. I think I wrote a report about two years back (and if I didn't I should have) complaining they used too much oil and they did a bad job of toweling it off at the end. Would be nice to know if that is still true. In any case, if you have been there a couple of times to learn names that means you have been there alot more than other guys these days and you really ought to report about the service.
Same with the other places that you have been. You said you got to a bunch of AMPS. At these other AMPS, which AMPS? Where were they? What did you get? Can they do a good foot massage, or do they end up tickling? How much did you pay? Do they charge extra for the feet? For a shower to wash off the oil? For a guy who wants some news from the board you are holding back on us. If you have been to a few AMPS, you are good for some reports. If not, we will still read and learn from what you have got to say. You can count on that.
Some of us have been hit hard by this recession and don't get out much at all these days, if at all anymore. Nice to hear news about the neighborhood from someone who sounds like he has the time and dollars to get out in a tough economy. In my little part of this economy, there may as well not be an AMP or any place like one in the world. I don't get much anywhere in this economy. Nothing to talk about anyway.
So when you have the chance, perhaps you could share with us a few good reports and give us an idea about what you have been up to. That would be quite neighborly. And hey, if you are new to the neighborhood, where are you from? Any news you want to share with us about your old neighborhood? Some folks travel, and its always nice to know where you can find the comforts of home while you are on the road.

Try harvest, 7 *, 7 heaven, finesse, tropical, k&m, or any other number of places that you can easily find by rtff. The first floor is locked up and you have to ring to get in. The lady at the counter took care of the economics and we retired to adjoining rooms. If there are specials to be had I struck out completely. Dear Tina has been it the states for a WEEK and needed help to just communicate.
The massage was outstanding IMHO but no happy ending. $1. 4 w/tip. Would go back for someone else. There were 2 others being worked on when I got there. Maybe they faired better.
Here is the strange thing. After the massage and table shower they offer a complimentary 20 minute foot massage. I thought that was interesting so I jumped at it. We walked to the massage chairs and a GUY gave the massage. Freaked me out. He not only did the feet but started to move up my leg. I jumped, He says "What's wrong" I say "I'm done". Even if it is free, I did not go there to have some guy work on me. I do get a chuckle but no.

I say first find a place and lady that you like and get her comfortable with you. Even better would be to get the mamasan or papasan comfortable with you being a regular. Next tell them what you want to do and that should do it.
I've had that work out with every place I've frequented and it works.
