JD here, previous senior member darbydarby2222, So it finally happened today, I was duped out of $125 in Apple gift cards. I had made an appointment with Sofia via text, after communicating with the reviewer who had a quite a number of common reviews. He gave details about Sofia that made it seem that he legitimately saw her. She did ask for a $100 deposit (first mistake) and provided me the email address [[blue][Deleted by Admin][/blue] to send them to (second mistake). I then asked the reviewer if the Sofia on secretdate. Site was the Sofia he saw, he said yes, matched her pictures but he said no deposit. I had confirmed the appointment multiple times without issue, and the day of she provided an apartment address in Midtown. When I got there, she would not give her apartment number or info without an additional $50 gift card saying it was to cover supplies. I said I would only be able to send $25, now getting more suspicious. Once I sent the $25, she said she was getting ready and just needed a minute more. Fast forward 10 more delays, she finally said she cannot meet because her mother was coming to the apartment. I was irate to say the least. She refused to return back the deposit and extra gift card. Luckily, I had purchased the digital gift cards for myself first before forwarding to her, so I was able to call Apple and immediately flag both gift cards. So turns out the 'senior' reviewer did have some legitimate reviews but also posted some fake ones in the hope that another more experienced member would check out the provider and provide a review. What a shifty way to determine if somone is legit or not! So mistake number three was trusting someone with a significant amount of reviews. Guessing that's a life lesson and the LAST time I ever give a deposit to any provider. Hope their Apple I'd gets flagged for fraud. Wish I had read these alert threads before booking the appointment.
