I decided that there was something fishy about it because she was indicating that there were pretty much no limits to what she would do. My experience has been with an ad like this they are only trying to get the money out of you. You did absolutely the right thing by not sending any deposit.
This trend of having to send a deposit before setting up a meeting has to end. I have never sent a deposit. I will not contact any provider who has a deposit requirement on the ad. If the provider asks for a deposit, I will decline and cease contact with that provider. My experience has been even if they say come on without sending the deposit, when you get there you will either get very substandard service or will have to deal with a potential robbery situation. My advice is to stay away from all of these deposit only providers. You will save yourself a lot of grief. Until us hobbyist start taking a stand against this practice it will continue.
We have to remember the "golden rule". That being "he who has the goal rules". We as hobbyist have the money and should dictate the majority of the rules. If the dollars stop flowing through the scam, then the scammers will go away. It will take time for this to happen, but over time it will. This is especially true if we use this forum to spread information about suspected scams. We have all been doing this for a long time and we all know when we get an indication that a scam is a foot.
It is your money. You should use it for your pleasure. Not to further some scamming operation.
Please be vigilant. And, please let everyone know when you come across a situation that is a scam. My personal opinion is that after reviewing these ads the providers are trying to set way too many rules.
