Asymetrical Swedish with Acu. :
CA Sate Assembly ruled yoga is a form of religious practice and the funding cut for Yoga related classes followed, Advance Yoga classes included massage, nutrient & best health practice now called alternative medicine.
I'm missing a couple of your points but that's cool (classes in Swedish / Reflexology banned as practice of religion?).
Old VivaMex was a different than current one and it's location. Current Scal massage prices matches Vivamex.
I have not been to Azteca for years. The walk up the steps is demanding and the paper covers on the massage table is not my cup of tea. Very friendly older good MT.
VivaMex was originally owned and operated by an American. For a time they made a slightly more sincere effort than Azteca to have their girls properly trained, but those days are surely gone as is the gringo owner. American tourists, male and female, were the target market. Around 2006-07, a rampage of police shakedowns of tourists combined with the hysteria of Mexico drug violence drove Tijuana tourism to extinction (except for the sex tourism of the zona norte) , VivaMex went into the toilet. Though it still is in operation. Azteca was the place I frequented because I liked the sensual touch that my favs delivered and I was just addicted to the place long before VivaMex opened. I knew from talking to the girls that many received 100% of their training from designated veterans already working there. No school and not much time to hit the ground running. Azteca's prices have not changed, and discounts are still available as far as I know from VivaMex in connection with the website favored by Tijuana mongers. That site was also previously owned by the original VivaMex founder and it is still used to hype VivaMex.
Swedish massage therapist are many but very few can actually generate great senasation in me. I have experienced to know the differnce in my sensation level. I just wish it just my wild imagination. I will pass on Wha Po (Thai) massages for now.
Too bad you are having problems finding good Swedish. As stated, I live in L. A. And I'm having no problem finding therapists who really know how to deliver on the Swedish. Light and deep tissue. There has been a phenomenal proliferation of "Thai Massage" places in Hollywood and Koreatown. They are literally on every commercial street and minimall, sometimes in clusters, sometimes disguised as Chiropractor offices, health centers, beauty shops, et al.
The expectations originally were to expect legit only in these places and the girls are generally very well trained in all styles, including real Thai Massage which actually is something like Yoga accomplished with the aid of the therapist with the customer fully dressed. Lately, seems to me that enough of these places provide HE so that you could go to 2 new places every week and come away with a great massage and HE in virtually every one of them. It's starting to feel like a Golden Age of high quality rub and tug around where I live.
True, my exposure is very limited in Scal.
True that Acu and Shiatsu are favored over Swedish in traditional Korean places and also the Chinese places in L. A. But seems like even in this category there are plenty of exceptions also where good to great Swedish happens.
I think this happened not by design but by accident of nature in this one female massage therapist. Who has no idea. Since massage is more about certification, time and money than anything else.
Many excellent massage therapist offer symetrical swedish with acu in Scal as you stated. I am thankful for that.
Asymetrical swedish with Acu generates maximum sensation IMHO. More like an exotic massage.
Request Full Body Massaget. Typically $30
Request Full Body Massage. Typically $30 dollars at Footmassage Place.
Lot of them have curtain room. How far will the MT go? Wondering is on the menu to start with if it is dark or dimmed and the MT knows you and willing. Check the place lights and sound system & clients to start with.
Avoid the Al Gore massage incident.
A friend took me with him to a foot massage place near the corner of Magnolia and Bolsa behind 7-11. I think there were two places on the second floor. Anyway, there was a woman who walked in right before us and said she had an appointment. It looked like she walked into the other side of the room and I believe she got a more private massage. Yeah, but I highly doubt any funny business would be going on.
I only went to one place in SGV near a pizza joint. Since Jenny left I haven't been back.
Stay away from Bogardus whittier
Last night visited this place in Whittier on Bogardus just east of First Ave. Actually this is my second visit. I met Vicky both times. First time she gave me a mediocre massage and HJ. During the HJ she was bitching that I'm taking long time to finish so she said next time I should pay for an hour and she would do CBJ. So I went again last night hoping to get the promised CBJ. Paid for one hour, she did a back massage for 10 minutes and asked me to flip. Then she tried to hustle me offering two girls for $80 each to do HJ. I thought this working girl is out of her mind so I declined. Then she said HJ for $65 and CBJ for $100. I told her flat out that is not happening and I know what the going rates are. She started bitching about how hard it is to finish me so I cut her short and said give me $10 back as I would go for half an hour massage and that I'm not going to pay her not a single penny for tip. I made sure I stay my full half hour and that she lost the next customer to the other girl and left after that. Avoid this *****, she is has below average looks and her service is so horrible.

Des,
I stopped going there too. Not sure it was the same provider, but she wanted to charge me. 80 more just to see her breasts. I told her you've got to be kidding, said forget it. HJ technique was so fast and furious that it approached speeds of a particle accelerator.
Baggens.
