Where are the next internet stings likely to come from?
Now that Backpage is out of business, it seems likely that LEO will be looking at other sites to weave their webs of deceit. I always avoided BP for exactly this reason: it was too dangerous to answer an ad. Take the sting last year in Boxbourough. These guys were just answering a BP ad and were prosecuted for "trafficking", a crime against humanity (at least in Massachusetts simple prostitution is a crime against humanity). Or the guys busted in Burlington this winter by The New England Electronic Crimes Task Force when they answered a BP ad.
Does anyone have an idea where LEO is likely to be baiting us next? It seems to me that they will pick the site with the most traffic. But, none of the BP want to-bes has emerged as a clear leader for advertising working girls.
