The material on the bottom of this bag grips to your dash. I could suction cup it to the window if I wanted, but that makes it less portable, and I don't really like the idea of suction cupping anything to my windshield. The bag has a flat area to suction cup the mount too, that's what the glossy area is in the product picture on amazon

As far as attaching something permanently to your dash, if thats really what you want to do, there are adhesive discs with a glossy surface, for you to suction cup a GPS to, but again, the bag has served me well, I didn't think 2lbs was heavy enough to keep it put, but if you have it positioned at the angle I do, it won't fail you. I purposely *TRIED* to make the gps fly off the dash because I was sending it back the next day anyways, it kept freezing up on me. So I put the padded case for the gps over it to not scratch it up, and took turns hard (30-40mph, 90* turns), but it wouldn't budge. The most it did was rock the gps side to side, but not any part of the bag lifted off the dash, the bag just absorbed the force (I was rocking side to side in an empty parking lot).

I tested the hell out of this bag because I was about to drop serious $$ on a better gps the next day right after I returned the one I didn't like.

They have a round bag too, but somehow I feel safer w/ this square one because it's slightly larger and the manual states its best position is that of a "baseball diamond", with the points of the square facing north south east west.

This whole mount deal helped me a great deal a few weekends ago when I was visiting a friend in haines city, because I was video recording the trip, and when I looked at the video later, not only is there the obvious benefit of seeing video of the directions she gave me, but also me repeating them as she told them to me over the phone as I drove.

LOS ANGELES - A woman listed in court documents as Jane Doe has filed a federal lawsuit against David Elms, the owner of T*E*R, accusing him of cybersquatting and defamation.

T*E*R has become known as the premiere online destination for those willing to rank their experiences with prostitutes on a scale of 1 to 10, as well as to leave comments. Elms said he created the site, which was launched in 1999, because he wanted to empower customers after he felt he was being "ripped off" by various escort services.

The Long Beach, Calif., woman, who said in court papers she is involved with an escort service, alleged Elms created a website using photos and videos of her, and also that he "directed his anger and vengeance" at her because she refused to have sex with him. She also claims Elms sent letters to her family and friends saying she is a prostitute.

The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

It's the latest in a string of legal woes for Elms, who in June was arrested and held in a Los Angeles jail on probation violation charges related to a 2006 drug and weapons conviction.

At the time of the June arrest, court officials said Elms failed five drug tests since October 2007. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted of the probation violation charges.
