If you don't and don't want it seen being downloaded, then you'll have to get a burner phone. Which may not be a bad idea anyway.

If the ipad is the also one of the device on that icloud account, then under icloud settings on all other devices, select not to 'download apps automatically'.

If the ipad is using a shared icloud account, best bet, don't use it.
